Chime in if you've ever stood online for hours, or had a crazy encounter in store during the holidays!

A few years ago I camped out in a meijers inside over night for a ipod but I got like a $50-$100 GC .

Ive met some crazy people . Had this dude shove me for no reason one time and as he passed my brother (he did not realize we were related) my brother tripped the dude he had no clue what happened.I always wondered if he just assumed he tripped on his own because his pants were so low :hilarious:

Ive met some very friendly people as well tho most are very pleasant to chat with.

I work in food so its always a hit and miss how people act when they come and get food . Usually its very rough tho and its the only time of the year im thankful I dont work retail .

So many memories but this year I think I will stick to mostly buying online and doing in store pick ups/ It still shocks me the amount of people who do not realize they can usually do this.

Last year afternoon maybe almost 100 people in line to check out and cut over to customer service no one was in line got my stuff and headed for the door. I did have a lady ask how the hell i did that and told her I ordered everything online the day before and choose in store pick up.

Years and years ago, during my 1st Black Friday, my wife to be and I went to Staples. Ran over to the table to get this cheap router...some guy grabbed it out of my hand, and when I looked he had 3 more his cart :hilarious:

The last time I went Christmas shopping on Black Friday in public I was almost goated into a fist fight with some pissed off Christmas shopper. It was in Burlington Coat Factory and I was at the checkout paying for items and using a gift voucher and the sales lady had to wait an eternity for a clearence code to use it.

After like 15 minutes and there were like five people lined up behind me and the guy directly behind me started getting impatient and it eventually turned into a heavy argument between him and the sales lady. I probably shouldn't have but I felt bad for her so I interjected and said to the irate guy 'If you have a problem with her then you have a problem with me because she's helping me'. The guy then shifted his anger towards me and said if it weren't for me and my voucher we all would be done by now.

I just laughed and said 'well if it weren't for assholes like you we would all live in a world of tranquility now wouldn't we?'. That just pissed him off even worse so he took a swing at me and the sales lady called mall security and the guy and me were both escorted out of the store and the mall and I lost my gift voucher in the process. It was like for $150 too. Man I was

That was the last time I shopped in the major public. I mean I go to Walmart and that is it. If I have to buy underwear or a new pair of shoes I buy online. I mean I buy damn near everything online now.

T.... I mean I buy damn near everything online now.

Damn dude.... people taking swings at others at checkout, thats just messed up. You know Im pretty damn near close to shopping for everything online too now a days. Personally, I find that fact really sad actually. It goes to show you how little people want to deal with other people (and "public situations" in general) and if they can avoid it they rather would. At-least that's the way I see it... its sad because it shows a growing lack of trust and interest in "other people"... lack of faith in fellow man to do the basics like be polite, nice and helpful or the desire to "want" to deal with other people. In a retail specific sense you always hear people say it myself included... I would rather buy something online if I can then deal with the employees at "X" store because they haven't a clue about anything. It seems no one "wants" to do there jobs anymore at retail stores and I can understand as I have worked in retail before and your under-incentivzed with low wages and a job generally speaking no one likes. God knows I have had plenty of jobs I didn't like but I always did them as best as I could as I figured, Im here, Im getting paid for it and I have to be here I might as well do it right even if I don't like it or there is just no point to me being here as an employee.

Add to all this that online prices are killing B&M prices.... and its just an ugly picture for B&M stores all together.

I guess Im just sad that I see the future with very little of the B&M stores that I grew up going to and might I add had fun going to the stores with my friends & family. It was just a different experience going shopping in-store then it is online.

Well that was more of a weird rant then an actual story, lol, so Ill stop. I have had mostly civilized boxing day in-store shopping experiences but I have witnessed some nasty sh*t happening with others, lol.

Yeah instead of Road Rage I call it Holiday Shopping Rage. EEK! It reminds me of that movie Jingle All the Way with Arnold and Sinbad. "I want my Turboman!" :hilarious:
