From my experience, DHL charges around £1.50 admin fee on stuff which duty is payable...Far better than RM's £8

Apparently YesAsia no longer marks down packages for customs purposes. The link to their link on the VAT reclaim is here.
Note this applies to UK & German customers only. I would imagine the admin fee will still have to be paid by you.

Hey Surf, where does it say about them not marking packages down. I heard they did that automatically. I just made my first order there so I'm hoping I don't get hit.
Judging by that link if you chose standard shipping you should be fine. I ordered something from them a couple of weeks ago, it cost between £40-50 can't remember exactly and it was marked as a gift. Couldn't read what it was valued at looked like a signature and I haven't been hit by customs for it.
I received a package from amazon.ca today, it was held until I paid the charges. Did it online yesterday and even after payment the tracking hadn't been updated so I didn't expect it to arrive today. DHL charged £1.25 for the admin fees.
Only from incoming packages from Japan. Ordered twice and hit with duties/taxes both times so I stopped!
I have heard of the rare instance from a few other people in Canada if you have a large order with a big value attached to it from other places that have been hit with some taxes but all in all in my many years of collecting only the two packages from Amazon JP were hit with taxes (& duties!). Never any issues from elsewhere.
