Thanks for the concept idea! Its a really good one! Got me totally pumped to try and make it... Is this kind of what you were thinking? Didn't have time to make a back... but I think you get the idea.
My brain has not been at rest since i've seen this design. I hardly make posts but i was compelled in this case.

Also what is the maximum discs a G2 case can hold? ... is it not possible to fit 4 discs?

Until now a standard G2 steelbook has only been able to hold 3 discs, however there is supposed to be a new style of disc tray insert that will be used for the Alien Quadrilogy from the UK that will allow standard G2 steelbooks to hold 4 discs

Amazing artwork...I would make that front wood pic as embossed...and then you have a possible steelbook of the year
