Plot: Dante's Inferno is loosely based on the first part of Dante's Divine Comedy. The player controls Dante, a veteran of the Crusades, who chases his beloved Beatrice and attempts to free her soul from Lucifer. As his pursuit takes him through the 9 Circles of the Inferno to Beatrice, he will battle monsters, face his sins, his family past and his war crimes.

Gameplay: The game has been touted as being similar to God of War, in which there are light and heavy attacks as well as magic. Dante's primary weapon is a scythe. He also has magical powers such as a holy cross, which fires a burst of light that destroys anything in its path. It has not yet been confirmed if there are more powers or weapons that Dante can use. Also, there is a feature called beast taming where, in the game, demons ride huge beasts and if Dante is able to kill the rider, he can control the beast. Depending which beast is controlled, he can use them for different attacks such as breathing fire on his enemies or bashing them. He is also able to condemn or absolve his foes and many damned shades throughout the journey, gaining righteous or unholy points with each absolution or condemnation. The resulting effect from the more righteousness points attained, the more powerful holy cross attacks become and the more unholy points are achieved, the more powerful Dante's scythe becomes.

I did, the graphics are very nice and the story is decent but the gameplay is a little off. It plays a lot like God of War but not quite as good, its less intuitive and some of the puzzles are just stupid. The game has a lot of nudity and gore, I recommend a rent not a buy.

Dante's Inferno Trials of St. Lucia Level Editor User Guide

Dante's Inferno is getting its substantial Trials of St. Lucia DLC next week, and so in preparation, Visceral Games has put together a helpful user video to hold you by the hand and guide you through building your own personal hell.

Introducing co-op and the powerful level-creation tool, the DLC pack bundles the winged demon-slaying St. Lucia of Syracuse as Dante's new guardian angel companion with six customisable arenas wherein you can add up to 25 waves of hellspawn.

You can tweak pretty much every aspect of your custom level, including difficulty, enemy numbers and much more, which all goes towards a cumulative medal score. Once you're happy with your level, you can test it out and then share it with the world.

Trials of St. Lucia is out on April 29th and will cost $9.99.

Coming to PSN Store: Dante’s Inferno: Trials of St. Lucia DLC

Hi, I’m Greg Rizzer, lead designer on the Trials of St. Lucia. I’m really excited to launch this expansion pack for fans of Dante’s Inferno.

The Trials of St. Lucia is a unique DLC package. First off, we are introducing an entirely new playable character: St. Lucia. She has her own set of moves and features much more aerial style combat that Dante. Our character team did an amazing job with her. She looks amazing and adds new depth — also, I think her wings look amazing!

Second, we have added online cooperative play. The ability to be able to go online and fight hordes of creatures with a friend is really fun. I think the co-op feature is something that fans of this game genre will appreciate.

Also, with this new DLC, we’re shipping an entire Trial creation editor! This is a cool and easy-to-use tool that will let you create your own Trials, play them, and even upload them to the community so other people can rate them and attempt to beat your master creation.

That’s a lot of content for $10! But that’s not all: In addition to those big features, we are also shipping 40 Trials that were created and tuned here at EA. If you beat them all, you will be rewarded with Trophies. Lastly, the co-op mode includes Leaderboards so you can check to see the points you’ve earned as a player, and as a Trials creator, and track them against other Trials of St. Lucia players.

There’s literally hundreds of hours of gameplay here. Make sure you pick it up and get online to play. I’ll see you on the Leaderboards!
