Dark Knight Premiere Shooting

I heard about this early today. What the **** is wrong with people?

Yeah seriously. I mean the article even notes that the mom had a gut feeling it was her son that did it. I mean does that mean she knew something was wrong with him psychologically? If that was the case why not try and get him some help. This was not the news I expected to see regarding this movie.

I heard about this on the morning news. Tragic to say the least. I'm still waiting to hear the news say why he did it. These kind of people emmmm! ...well I'm not going to say it on here but you just know what everybody is thinking about what should happen to this guy. :violent:

Have WB o Nolan made comments about this sad situation?

Do you believe midnight shows will be cancelled in the future?

So far, I've heard a pre-recorded interview with Hathaway and Gordon-Levitt that was supposed to air on Radio 1 today has been rescheduled for next week, and a Batman competition Play.com were holding has been held off because of what's happened.

It's horrific news... especially since I hear kids were among some of those who were killed. It's already put a real damper on the movie, as the thought of what's happened is going to go through my mind whenever I watch this film now. I hope those responsible are caught!

My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families.

I just saw this, very shocking news. What goes through the minds of these people to do something like this.

What do you think? Are ticket sales for the weekend going to be impacted by this? I'm thinking slightly.

Probably so. As Noodles said people will now relate this movie with that shooting. Afraid some  individual will come into their theater and do the same thing.

Such a shame.

I hope my girlfriend doesn't hear about the news. I'm not going to bring it up to her either because I really want to go!

I think the fact this happend at a Batman movie is completly irrelevant, if it was a low budget film I doubt the film's name would have been mentioned. Tragic as it is, it's yet another example of the failings of capital punishment.

I think this has put the kibosh on this film now, in the short-term certainly in US, however I don't think it will make much difference worldwide in the longer term although as commented above some of the promotional boosts have been postponed as a mark of respect.

My thoughts and prayers to all those and their families affected by this tragedy in Aurora, CO.

People take movies way too literally, it's science fiction. Fiction being the key word, but today it goes beyond fandom which result in tragic consequences.
