I ordered a few of these and 15% had small ding to the top front, they have been returned!

Mine arrived today in one of those famous jiffy bags (all earlier orders were in cardboard boxes).

With about five spots of missing paint on the front (some, of course, at the edges)
- and a scratch of about 2 cm on the inside art below the plastic.

Guess this was my last order from HMV.

Yes, HMV dont care about packing and condition before shipping. I think it's beter to get steelbooks from HMV from a groupbuy or UK guys who can pickup them from their local stores and ship in better packages. A little more expensive yes... but you will get mint copies. I did ordered this too and received this in a heavy damaged packing but i was lucky he arrived in mint condition.

i ordered a copy from HMV.com Thursday afternoon on the way back from my local HMV store as they were sold out.

Hopefully mine arrives mint but i dont reckon it will be as lots of people have got slashed spines

oh, sorry to hear that mate.

i only ordered mine last Thursday to. I went all the way to my local store on the bus only for them not to have it so i decided to order it online via my phone on the trip back home.

I hope your arrives soon mate.

They sent my replacement copy to the wrong address - my Mum's address, 350 miles away. Kinda peeved.

Surprise surprise... replacement copy has arrived with a slashed spine. EVERY steelbook that I've ever ordered from HMV has now arrived with a scratched spine, including replacements...

dont think i could even bring myself to buy this if it was £5



and i always go in store to buy HMV steels after all the negative comments on here there is no way i would risk buying online

I sometimes do, but two things bother me about buying in store... One, I don't always open every steelbook and the security stickers they put on everything really irritates me.

And two, HMV often raise the prices before I'm able to get to a store. Dark Shadows for example is £20 in store now.

This is the only steelbook I have received damaged from HMV, and it was the only one that arrived in a small jiffybag and not in a cardboard box... not sure if I will bother with return as it is only a small dent on the front though...

I had the exact same problem - chased HMV and after 2-3 email exchanges and a promise that I'd checked the local sorting office isn't hiding it and I'm not pulling a fast one they finally agreed to send a replacement - it 'should' be here next couple of days.....

....awful film though
