Hey all...if this is the Czech release and will be same across Europe, then apart from UK, won't the German, French, Italian releases all be the same (glossy with embossing)??? In that case, plenty of options to order direct from Amazon...

So I assume only the US/CA release is flat and matte??

Trust mate the steel will be much better thank a lame zavvi matte finish with defects. Glad I cancelled my zavvi order, will go for this and the manta one

I bought 2 Star Wars TFA from zavvi, the finish is so rubbish and both had defects. I bought 2 cause I knew the chances were one would be damaged or have defects, should have bought 10 and I would get a good one

It's Canada and USA that's matte and flat
I'll just risk zavvi. I'm really dissapointed about this not being FAC though, and I won't be paying £45 for manta when I haven't even seen any of their goods!
I've mentioned it a lot but manta should start cheaper to make their mark and then if they want after positive feedback and sales they can raise prices and that's not knowing about defects or damages with their releases. That can also happen
I think man of steel taking 3/4 days to sell out says it all really. Obviously collectors are a bit skeptical on the finished product although it sold out in the end

And Star Wars is Disney and this is fox, it seems to work the opposite for both releases with certain titles being the better of the same release like USA/ Canada force awakens and this for Europe and Asia

Also I thought most were aware that the zavvi force awakens was matte. It's why I went for the US version. That and it also having a debossed title and spine title

Damn that is one nice steel! Embossed and glossed?! I'm guessing the distributor of this release must have got laid last night coz he must have been in one hell of a good mood!!!

I'm in for this. An FAC would be the icing on the cake but still I am loving those shots! Hoping Zavvi are getting the same and I'll keep my order but if not I am a certified Czech citizen!!!

Whilst I agree with you and I've had serious headaches from zavvi and because of that I barely pre order anything anymore (as we speak I have 5 on order and I was planning on cancelling 3 of those for more premium releases like I thought this was going to be and the other 2 being jungle book and zootopia/tropolis) I'm pretty sure zavvi for me works out the cheapest at £20. Unless anyone can point me in the direction of somehere cheaper and same finish? I can risk it and if it does turn up damaged I can send it back and order from elsewhere.

I kept my Zavvi order.

They aren't my favourite retailer; but I do wish people would be realistic, and keep things in proportion. For instance, Zavvi didn't choose the finish of the Star wars steel - it's generic!!

I'm also waiting on the FAC Deadpool. Pass on the Manta as it's also generic. Stuck a toe in the water for their Man of Steel - almost wish I hadn't; perhaps I'll change my mind when it is in hand.

Hmmm, I believe you have pointed me in the right direction for getting it cheaper than zavvi lol

Edit: @BluSteel2012 just went to order from Amazon.it and with shipping comes to just under €26 for me so it it works out roughly 30p cheaper than zavvi lol so I'll just stick with my zavvi order. I also remembered I have a similar chance of getting it damaged from Amazon Italy with their shoddy packaging. My last steel from them was dented anyway. Oh well
