WTF??? :LOL::confused:

@huggsy mate, sounds like this guy is blowing smoke up your ass. Deadpool got no steelbook release in Ireland. Period.

If that's the case, he can say that about any of the European Steelbook releases. Because all the discs are the exactly the same. Which he has done, because I have no doubt that this is the Czech release and he's lied to you.

Even if it was from Ireland (which it's not) it would have the UK J-card because we get all the same steelbooks you guys get. With both the Irish and UK film rating logos on there.

Just to be clear here is the response, I don't think there is anything dodgy going on, but merely trying to assist buyers, so they know what they are getting, anyway here goes.

Thank you for the email and for confirming delivery. I hope I can help with the query. We tend to use a variety of wholesalers to bring in our stock. This particular set is not the Zavvi release (not mentioned as such in the listing, nor do pictures stipulate a J sleeve) For this particular set we use a supplier based in Ireland who work closely with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. Along with the Zavvi release, this release has been mainly targeted for the UK and Irish market.

Hope that info helps. Please let me know if there is any other way I can help as primarily ensuring your satisfaction is our priority, and avoiding negative/neutral feedback or low star (1 or 2) ratings comes as a secondary priority.

Many thanks again for the purchase.

P.S We'll also have the Superman V Batman steelbook available on pre-order from Friday

Thought for those that are interested I would share my recent experience with Zavvi, it's in the retailer thread should you wish to comment so it does not derail this thread.
That is somewhat similar to the experience I had with Elektra. At the time I returned the damaged steel, it was still showing as being in stock. But by the time they received it they had sold out. At that point, they said that all they could do was refund me. When I asked why didn't they put one aside knowing that I was returning a damaged one for replacing they just said that they don't do that. Any comments I made about that not representing good customer service were just ignored like water off a duck's back.

I pointed out Amazon's model, whereby they send out a replacement immediately and, if they don't receive the original back within a certain timeframe they charge you for both. Again they just said that they don't do that, and just don't seem to be interested in listening to ideas on how to improve their customer service and overall image (I was genuinely trying to be helpful, but was obviously just being more of a hinderence). I even included several quotes from these forums, but I might as well have banged my head against a brick wall...

@paulboland have you any idea about an Irish Steelbook supplier? I never heard of such.

If there was, I doubt Zavvi would be impressed to find they are distributing their exclusives elsewhere :D

Hey I here you..but I know nothing about the ins and outs of supplying/marketing steelbooks I just collect them, along with most other members, as I say I needed assistance with this, and to inform other buyers about it, I don't think there is any malice here, I mean check his feedback, and he has sold s--t loads of this so buyers are happy
I Think....it was just the lack of slip/info Certification that was missing, however as pointed out it should still have the certification, at least on the disc.....But hey what do I know.

Sorry to hear about your experience, I don't hate Zavvi but with my recent experience it's hard to stick up for Zavvi on this forum and not agree with people taking there business elsewhere.

There has been some UK exclusive releases sold in Ireland before but usually that was with Hmv/Tower Records not some seller on eBay

I will have to do some enquiries It's possible it's legit but I suspect there is something not right

What I suspect it might be I can't say yet as I need proof first

What disc is inside the steelbook does it have Irish/UK rating

Can you upload a photo of the Blu-ray Disc that's inside the steelbook

Thanks
Paul

I would never buy from a person that stated crap like that. Bad seller IMO.

Are we looking at the same listing? It says This is a genuine UK Region 2 edition

What they're essentially saying is that its genuine and plays on UK based equipment. Which isn't a lie, it is UK Region 2 (B) but it's not from the UK, I've seen listings like these all the time and its easy to be misconstrued. They probably wouldn't sell as many copies if they said "This is a genuine Region 2 import".

However, the seller is now apparently proclaiming it to be an Irish copy, which like @BluSteel2012 said, is phoney. UK/IRE share the same disc, in fact some countries in Europe also do the same. Why the seller would complicate the matter is another story...

Any seller on eBay UK if they have in the description
This is a genuine UK Region 2 edition

That is advertising UK Edition as in the UK release simply because it clearly states UK Edition

EU Law and UK Law
Description of goods for sale must as described and not be misleading

I will be checking out tomorrow or on Monday who the supplier is with Fox Ireland and if they supplied stock to third party distributors within Ireland

If it is stock from another European country as in Czech Republic it must clearly state this in the description regardless it also been region B release

If the stock was genuine supplied from a licenced Irish distributor it would have the Irish certificate on the disc if it does not then it's not the UK/Ireland Blu ray release

To be a genuine sealed UK release for sale
It also would require it come with a j-card showing the certification

Fox Ireland licenced distributors in Ireland would not supply retailers without this j-card or a disc not having UK/Irish cert

If the Blu ray disc in the steelbook not have UK/Irish cert on the disc it's not stock from Fox UK/Ireland

If the eBay seller did get the stock from a Irish supplier it' might be a Irish distributor who imports from various countries from European distributors

I used to do this a lot for soundtrack releases with Tower Records sometimes it was cheaper than getting from the official Irish supplier but that was for music releases

Video imports have restrictions due to certification differences so we could not import video releases

Here are some images, not good I am afraid, thinking about it, there should be some certification but would not know. It does state it is a Genuine UK Steel.
Also don't forget he had sold out mid week, but then has another 7 in stock, if the supplier deals with Zavvi as he states, why have they no more....food for thought sirs food for thought.

Your UK disk should look like this.....

So there you go. He lied. It didn't come from Ireland.

Dishonest seller. If he's lying about this. What else is he lying about? Shady if you ask me.

Disc is either Italian or Czech. Either he removed the Italian backing card. Or its simply the Czech version as this didn't have anything attached. Which would also explain why he has 7 more coming because the Italian one has been sold out for weeks.

WTF....For F--k sake what is it with this steelbook...first I get stiffed with the first one, then get shafted with this, but what pisses me off more than anything, is I saw the better side of this person, and actually thought I was helping on here....which I suppose now I have, as this has come out now, Christ I am a sucker.
So what would you recommend I say, Obviously I am not going to keep this one now, not now this has come out, I will ask for a refund of course, but would like any input from you to add.
So thank you for enlightening me.

It's up to you but although it's the Czech steelbook it is the same as rest of Europe including Zavvi in terms of the actual steelbook itself
It just not the UK Disc that came with Jcard and Ultraviolet Copy
The ebay seller is been bit cheeky saying it's Genuine UK Steelbook as it not

If you keep it it's still the same steelbook it just not have the UK/Ireland disc or Jcard and Ultraviolet copy
The Film and extras on the Disc are the same

Ask for a discount partial or full refund but be allowed to keep the steelbook for his wrong listing that's it is a Genuine UK Steelbook
