Walt Disney Studios is currently offering a free disc replacement for Pinocchio 70th Anniversary Platinum Edition Blu-ray sold in the United States that contains a reported audio issue. In the song "Give a Little Whistle" sung by Jiminy Cricket to Pinocchio, the recorded dialogue layer was not added and is missing two spoken lines by Jiminy Cricket: "Right!" and "Look out, Pinoke!"
If your copy of Pinocchio 70th Anniversary Platinum Edition Blu-ray is defective and missing Jiminy Cricket's two spoken lines, then please call 1-800-723-4763 to get a free replacement Blu-ray disc. Make sure to have the Blu-ray handy as the representative will need the number on the spine of the case (100057) for the Blu-ray stock number and the numbers imprinted on the interior ring of the disc's data side (top half of the ring: BVDL-042810A1; lower half of the ring: BVDL-042810B1) for the Blu-ray lot number. Once the representative has received all the pertinent information, a pre-paid mailing label will be sent out for you to return the defective disc only (do not send anything else). There will also be a short Product Information Form to fill out and mail back with the defective disc. Upon receipt of the defective disc and form, the corrected disc will be mailed out to you free of charge. If you are unable to call, you can also fill out the online form with your full name, phone number, mailing address, Blu-ray stock number and Blu-ray lot number.
Although the Pinocchio 70th Anniversary Platinum Edition DVD has a similar audio issue, there is currently no free disc replacement program announced yet.
Pinocchio 70th Anniversary Platinum Edition is returning to the Disney Vault at the end of the month on April 30, 2011, but it does not effect the exchange program. However, it may be wise to call sooner than later. For those of you who have not purchased Pinocchio 70th Anniversary Platinum Edition yet, you have a few weeks left to pick it up at your local store
