45.00 dollars each really :wtf: are they retarded i'd rather have the original's that's on zavvi.com for 10 pounds and that includes 1&2:scat: together so guy's if i were you i'd head on over there:thumbs:

Isn't that what we collect steelbooks for the artwork? I love the colours on this I personally think it's very nice and worth the extra :scat:

Definitely on the pricey side, but I'm loving the exterior art for both movies and am generally pleased at this announcement. Had really been wanting the North American horror/cult movie distributors to start getting in on the steelbook craze like Arrow and others overseas.

Hopefully these do well enough to see further steelbook releases from Synapse down the road (albeit at lower prices) and maybe even get competitors like Shout/Scream Factory in on the act. My mouth waters at the thought of some Phantasm or Howling steelies.

Oh, the price is too much, I'm not even going to try defending that one. I realize Synapse does a lot of work on restoring their films and adding new features (and the first one coming packaged with a reproduction of the Metropol Theater Ticket is pretty cool for fans), but I imagine they could have sold this at a lower price.

Unfortunately, if you look around their website you'll see that Synapse releases are pretty pricey- especially when it comes to their limited exclusives. That's not likely to change. The only thing that will happen if people refuse to buy this release is they're not going to distribute any more steelbooks. Which may be a good thing for some whom are against these prices. Heh.

As for myself? Eh. If I'm willing to pay over 30 dollars (40 after shipping for Major Dundee) for certain amaray case releases by Twilight Time, then I can cough up 45 for steels of one of my favorite guilty pleasure horror movies and its sequel. But to each their own on how to vote with their wallets, to be certain.

For those wondering your credit card is charged right away once you pre-order according to the website.

I've also asked about how they plan to ship these and can they provide "bubble wrapping"

The new transfer & audio etc is a warm welcome, but I´m sorry to say that I think the cover is a miss. I agree with others that they should have used the back cover for the front instead and for this price I want some debossed/embossed etc. I`ll stick with my Arrow for now...

I love the new artwork and don't mind paying the extra for that and a new transfer. Although that is just me :)

I asked Synapse about international orders and they directed me to this company: http://www.diabolikdvd.com/

Even though they don't have the steelbooks listed, it appears you can contact them for a copy.

While we cannot ship internationally, we have a company that does. www.diabolikdvd.com

Contact them and they should be able to get them and ship them for you. We just cannot ship outside of North America, because of our contractual/licensing agreements. But,they can get them for you.

Kindest Regards,
