Couple of things going against this one:

1. No remastered disc (apparently there is a fresh 4K scan done, although not released anywhere as of yet)
2. Waaaaay Too pricey for the 1 film (the whole set can be had for less!)
3. Don't forget this is Fox and will 99.9% be a thin paint matte finish

You're Photoshop skills are worse than those of the guy who makes Zavvi Steelbook mockups!

I'm joking, great picture mate

It's a weird place. Alot of big buildings and towers and virtually no cars or people walking.
We got to take done pictures of me on the stairs that the RV got stuck in but then security turned up and told us to move on.
When I was there I was trying to imagine the choppers coming down the street.

I don't mind the art work on the proviso they release at least Die Hard 2 in the same format (I would imagine its slim to none that we'll get another Die Hard with a Vengence)

I started off liking it, now after reading these pages i'm not so sure. So weak minded.

The front artwork reminds me of the new Tomb Raider game boxart though :dunno:

Artworks seems to be from "Die hard 25th anniversary collection”. If that is the case then atleast all four movies would be similar in artwork, when eventually released. And the disc art is great

I'm not too sure about this one. I like the front and the middle's alright. But the back is a little effortless... Hoping Zavvi will come up with some decent ones for the sequels in the future, I'd love to see the awful Die Hard 3 one re-released with some proper artwork instead of that random smudge

I'm VERY undecided about this one.

I already have the standalone 25th Anniversary blu ray for this film which came with the bonus disc 'Decoding Die Hard'.

The back of the steelbook is essentially the disc art for the 25th Anniversary bonus disc.

Does anyone know if the steelbook will have the bonus disc as well? I MIGHT be persuaded if it does as I love the film so much, but if it is just the one disc edition, I might skip it as that edition can be bought for £9.99 with the other 3 in the quadrilogy.

Suppose it looks alright. But remember, this will be in the matt finish that fox love. Would be better suited to a high gloss finish.

True, in a sense, but have a look at this unboxing vid for the 25th Anniv Collection.

The same image is used for Die Hard (1), but in the boxset, his face is significantly darker and has a full horizontal view that includes a really nice image reel at the bottom encompassing a lot of the action of the movie. Freeze the video on 2:42. If this was a horizontal steel with the highlight reel across the bottom exactly as shown in the boxset, it would be really cool looking. (and I'm not saying I wish it was horizontal or that I prefer horizontal steels in general, because I don't).

Also, there is no fluffy teddy bear in the boxset

That bullet hole on the back, while cool looking and all artsy fartsy, it's still is techincally wrong on many levels, as pointed out by poster "greg" and doubled up by Wreck right after. In the set, there's a lot more real estate to include tons of artwork so it seems more acceptable to use that image for the back (incorrectness aside). On the steelbook, it seems like valuable real estate is wasted.

We steelbook collectors are a tricky bunch, with such varying opinions that I can imagine it's really a difficult endeavor to put out stuff that pleases everyone. Maybe I was harsh to call this new steelbook from Zavvi a failbook, but I still think it could have been better.
