We always welcome new HD channels with open arms, but in the case of these new HD channels from DISH Network there's a catch. These new channels are being delivered on a newer birds located at 72.7 and 129 -- we don't pretend to know what these numbers mean -- so most existing DISH Network customers can't see them. Some of you are lucky enough to have a DISH 1000 which can tune in the new channels, assuming you don't live on the east coast. If you do live on the old coast of the US you need an even newer DISH 1000.4

* TRU-TV HD
* Fox Soccer Channel HD
* Retroplex HD
* Indieplex HD
* BBC America HD
* E! Entertainment Television HD
* Hallmark HD
* Showtime West HD
* Sportsman Channel HD

since we're way off topic anyways. does directv have something in the pipe that will surpass dish's dvr's?

Well they are coming out with MRV (multi-room viewing). Much like Att U-verse. Current Ethernet supported recievers are compatible and can run the on going beta.

Also the new DirecTv Tivo should launch later this year.

maybe i'm misunderstanding you, but i can watch 2 show now, are you saying they're just going to add 2 more like att? i mean..how hard is that. its just another tv tuner

which i can do now on 2 tv's. so all they're doing is adding another tuner to enable 2 more tv's....

its cool, but nothing that isn't already happening :shrug:

Not exactly. You have a dual tuner for 2tv's. Which is only for those 2tv's. If you were to add another Dual tv dvr it would only share recordings with those 2 tv's. With MRV I will be able to watch my recordings from. Living room, bedroom, family room, backyard with all the tvks having access to the recordings. Not just limited to 2. ;)

It supports a total of 8 tuners btw
