Ok start listing the Disney classics you would like to see in steelbook (in the UK) that are NOT pixar titles.

Once this thread is big enough we will take the best options and run a poll to give "the powers that be" a better look at the numbers in regards to popularity.

Poll now added, this will be open for 3 days so get your vote in for your favourite! At the moment you can only vote once so can you please pick your most wanted title!

Enjoy and thanks!

List of classic Disney titles here.

Isn't the disney vault global just with diff dates sometimes... if so some titles are auto void.

Some vault titles differ from region to region. For example, 101 Dalmatians was already released in some regions, but is still in the vault until next year in the US. So if we exclude those titles currently vaulted, as well as those that have been previously released as a steel of some kind, that leaves us with these possibilities:

Dumbo
Alice in Wonderland
Peter Pan (will be returning to the vault around this time next year)
101 Dalmatians (to be released from the vault in 2014, but already released in UK)
Sword in the Stone
Jungle Book (to be released from the vault in 2014)
The Aristocats
Robin Hood
Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
The Rescuers
The Fox and the Hound
The Black Cauldron
The Great Mouse Detective
Oliver & Company
The Little Mermaid (to be released from the vault this year)
The Rescuers Down Under
Pocahontas
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Hercules
Mulan
Tarzan
Dinosaur
The Emperor's New Groove
Atlantis
Lilo & Stitch
Treasure Planet
Brother Bear
Home on the Range
Bolt
Tangled

Based on this list, I think the priority should be Peter Pan, as it is the only title already available that will be returning to the vault.

If we separate this list further into those titles already released on blu-ray vs. not yet released, we have:

Released in the UK and/or US: (in my opinion, these titles should get priority, since they already missed the opportunity for the steel treatment when they were initially released)
Dumbo
Alice in Wonderland
Peter Pan
101 Dalmatians
The Aristocats
The Rescuers
The Fox and the Hound
The Great Mouse Detective
The Rescuers Down Under
Pocahontas
Hunchback of Notre Dame
Mulan
Tarzan
Dinosaur
Treasure Planet
Brother Bear
Home on the Range
Bolt
Tangled

Not yet released in the UK and/or US:
Sword in the Stone
Jungle Book
Robin Hood
Many Adventure of Winnie the Pooh
The Black Cauldron
Oliver & Company
Hercules
The Emperor's New Groove
Atlantis
Lilo & Stitch

That's how I understood it. So would vault titles basically be auto void?

List of Vault titles.

I know most Disney decisions in other Countries still go back to Hollywood ... so would only think that means if the title is vaulted in the USA then its a no-go in Uk. A retailer can still sell out their remaining stock most often so that might be why you see titles still in stock in the interim.

Here are the titles as you suggested that are Vault classified ... I have Bolded the ones that are already in the vault or bout to be thus ineligible.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)
Pinocchio (1940)
Fantasia (1940)
Dumbo (1941)
Bambi (1942)
Cinderella (1950)
Alice in Wonderland (1951) April 30th
Peter Pan (1953)
Lady and the Tramp (1955) - April 30th including part 2
Sleeping Beauty (1959)
101 Dalmatians (1961)
The Jungle Book (1967)
The Little Mermaid (1989)
Beauty and the Beast (1991)
Aladdin (1992)
The Lion King (1994) April 30th including 1/2 and part 2

So all the bold should be excluded ...

Very good! Thanks much! Sigill take note please. Lilo comes out in June in USA havent checked UK ... but it could actually be a good possibility as well.

I suggest going with titles already out in the UK not vaulted nor going to th vault in April. In which case Lion King and Alice are most likely void.

Alice in Wonderland is being vaulted?? That's weird, I haven't gotten any emails from Disney about that. I repeatedly get emails about Lion King and Lady and the Tramp disappearing April 30th, but none of them mention Alice.

Very good! Thanks much!
No problem, glad to help! I want to see this happen!

Okay so all the titles already released in the UK, but not vaulted, that haven't previously gotten a steel treatment:

Dumbo
Peter Pan
101 Dalmatians
The Aristocats
The Rescuers
The Fox and the Hound
Pocahontas
Hunchback of Notre Dame
Mulan
Tarzan
Dinosaur
Brother Bear
Bolt
Tangled

Emperor's New Groove, Atlantis, and Lilo & Stitch are all being released in the US in June. Not sure about UK.

What about The Black Cauldron?

On the subject of Bambi, that recently got a UK rerelease along with its sequel last month (Similar thing happened to Pinocchio where it got rereleased but without its bonus disc), so surly there's a small chance for some "Vaulted" titles? I don't think they're as serious about "the vault" here as in America as they have rereleased those 2 formar Diamond Edition Blus as regular Blus (And from a Disney Blu Ray forum topic I keep an eye on, Sleeping Beauty might get a similar rerelease around Xmas), and with our Peter Pan not being a Diamond Edition, I wonder if Disney UK would just abandon the Diamond Edition line and not be too harsh on the whole Vault thing (Still films going in there, but you know, not such a long wait before another rerelease and a barebones rerelease not being out of the question).

Oh, and by barebones I mean not including the extra disc and/or DVD copy and disc one being the exact same as the Diamond Edition's disc 1.

What about The Black Cauldron?
I may be mistaken, but I don't believe The Black Cauldron has been released on blu-ray yet, UK or otherwise. That list only included titles already released on blu-ray, not vaulted, and without previous steel releases.

Of the list given, not vaulted, and already out on blu-ray. And I've put in bold those I'd like most that are already out in the UK but without steel.

Dumbo
Peter Pan
101 Dalmatians
The Aristocats
The Rescuers
Basil: The Great Mouse Detective
Tarzan
Tangled
Sword in the Stone
Jungle Book
Robin Hood
The Emperor's New Groove

No US release yet
Song of the South*
Dalmations (has UK release)
Jungle
Robin
Mermaid
Pooh (many adventures)

Previously released
Dumbo (Japan blu-ray art, PLEEZ get this right)
Alice
Peter
AristoCats
Pocahontas
Bolt
Tangled

*animated/live action, so maybe it doesn't belong

Note: I understand the thread is for future UK steels.

Good link for titles with art, synopsis @ IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/list/ozrnGs8JQJo/

The titles with prior metal packaging releases should not get another release until all the other big titles have their own metal release. There's already too much of that in the collecting world. And when the time comes, let's see different art.

Tip: If they are going to include sequels with the original release, they should be bonus features and should not be shown on the cover.
