Such a shame that the metal used was little thicker than tin foil. Mine bends incredibly easily, probably the worst i've seen. Maybe it is worse because it is only a one disc edition. With a disc holder behind the front cover it may have felt a bit more sturdy. This was a missed opportunity, with thicker material and a glossy finish, it would've been superb. Don't get me wrong I still think it looks great, but it could've been so much better.

Yeah a gloss finish would have really made a difference. It still looks surprisingly good for a matte finish though. The embossing and hi-res artwork make it a must have imo.

The metal seems normal thickness to me. Doesn't bend, just a slight 'pop' like Captain America has. I think if it had slightly thicker paint it wouldn't feel so thin.

I agree about the metal thickness it seems Scanavo are using a thinner gauge of steel than they used to.

Maybe it's to be able to do finer embossing or cut costs.

Got mine the other day through Zavvi. Very nice steel, feels well made apart from the popping on the front probably due to all the em/de bossing.

Is it just my luck (Cardiff and Bristol checked) that all the in store copies have a dent/paint defect on the "red half" spine side at the base, must have looked at about 20 until I found one that didn't have it.

Am I the only one that prefers matte to gloss? Everyone constantly hopes its gloss finishes but I'm all for matte!

And I know what you mean about it being a little flimsy. Mines also seems loosely put together. Sways side to side even when close.

I prefer matte too. It just seems more premium to me especially with embossing - not to mention it's less prone to scratches. A decent, well made matte steelbook trounces a glossy one for me.

Yeah. Seems classier than a big shiny fingerprint magnet. I personally think glossing should be for specific elements within the cover art i.e. the chain links in Django or the blade on Rambo.

I like matte and glossy steels and even though glossy usually looks better they get scratched far too easily and gets covered in fingerprints, I got my steel today from zavvi but has two dents on it so will watch and return it.

The key is not what type of finish but the quality of the finish. Both can produce a classy looking Steelbook when done right. I just think that glossy finishes are often done well whereas matte finishes are usually cheap looking.

Mine shipped today from Amazon! :scat:

Also, I added 999 to my cart. And it did not lower the total.

It remained at 999, meaning that they must have just gotten a huge restock of this one.

:hilarious:
