Personally, I'm glad it's there.

I was fed-up with the constant stream of Marvel titles with an ever growing amount of pictures on the spine. I'd still like to have seen them with theatrical poster-art, as Marvel always has a great selection of ones to choose from.

The spineless titles and those icons on the spine are a major turn off for me.

I thought it would have the spine title, simply because it was too big a detail to simply make up. The good thing about the UK releases having spine titles is that, at least if someone doesn't want it, they can order from Europe at pretty much the same price to get what they want, Whereas, trying to get one from the US with a title was an expensive hobby for us in the UK.

This steelbook is nothing special in hand. Photos make it look better than what it really us.

Someone else here got it spot on when they compared it to the Iron Man 3 steelbook. Nice idea, but poorly/cheaply executed. Can't wait to watch the film for the first time though.

Lol that was me... and I felt totally alone in my thinking

I put it in a plastic shell and displayed it (front facing) with my other marvel steels to see if it would grow on me...and looking at it from a distance of about 10 ft and the shine the plastic shell gives it is definitely a plus.. it looks much better from a far... but I know it's an illusion cos when I get closer and take it out the shell to watch it I know I'll see and feel the cheap finish.. and the outside border it has, the lack of detail in the artwork just screams cheap.. this had the potential to be one of the best steelbook's but it failed on detail and finish... film is great though

When I took the pic of this and iron man 3, I felt the IM3 steel had the edge(tiny, but still had the edge).

Everyone unsurprisingly has an opinion of this steelbook but I'd say the majority are more than happy with it . . . and what a coup to get the spine title JUST for the U.K. !
It's certainly an OMG feeling that of all the territories in which this has been released this little island is the only place to have a special spine printed with the title on it.

Whether it looks better with or without is immaterial as anyone who bought the U.K. edition can easily cash it in and pick up one with the book spine from another European or Asian territory.
No need to bother with The Americas edition unless you're not fussed by the lack of the raised frame on the rear.

Personally speaking I think it's a little gem and one of my favourite U.K. steelbooks . . . more for the fact that it is so very different to the usual style of steelbook we get here . . . and I thought I had all styles until I got this one
