Well at that point it wouldn't be a limited run if everyone could get them, and then they also run the risk of losing money on unsold items. So I think they will continue to raise the number of copies until they see where the sold and unsold line is and then dial it back just enough.
Ummm, idk about that. 4,000 is a perfectly acceptable limited run. I mean that's reasonably standard for a wea to be honest, particularly for disney. I can't see them going higher than that.

I get your view, on the concept of it all.. but what you're saying is nonsensical. It isn't an empty box.. it's a premium steelbook set, simply without the discs. Which you can plainly see has been reduced accordingly, so you can buy yourself if needed.

Abstaining from buying is obviously your call, but if that's your attitude, and the deciding factor for you is that a OC has to have 3 sets of exactly the same discs, maybe the very nature of what makes these premium steelbooks, just isn't for you..
A premium steelbook has (until very recently) been a premium of a movie and if it was just about the box, then the 4K slip for Manta's a Star Is Born wouldn't be 220 usd, while the BR only lenti is 125, bc if you go back and look at comments after it was released, the FS was largely derided for a meh finish and IMO it's the weakest image (regardless of finish).

I really don't think anyone is going to sit here and say the FS is worth 95bucks more, simply because it has a 4K disc in it lol That's ludicrous. I'm sure it helps in the decision for someone who wanted one (myself included), but not enough when we're talking that sort of money. It's the best slip (imo), that's why it sells for higher. The 4K disc inside has very little to do with it.

Well I can promise you most comment in the original thread thought it was great right up until they saw it in hand. Then almost everyone said it was a miss. That slip is LITERALLY why I've avoided manta's FS ever since, because it's matte, with virtually no bossing and virtually no gloss. About the only thing it has going for it is a 4k disk and the print isn't blurry. Based on my reading after the release I saw a lot more love for the Lentis than the FS. Regardless, just as I stood by the need for all releases to include a 4K disk in 2019, I stand by the need to have media in side of media cases. Time will tell which of us is right, but I can't spend that much a box within a box (or in the case of a OC 3 boxes within 3 oher boxes housed ina larger box. It's all good. If I end up dropping out of this it'll save me a lot of money ;) But I'm still buying that UHD release of LOTR and Edge of Tomorrow.

There are some people, let's call them lovingly freaks, that believe in a myth of a complete edition, as it was sold, and that they're untouchable, which commands them to retain even any advertisement flyers that came with, J-cards as well, which they will not bend, but keep flopping around on the outside, until they're falling apart like Norman's dead mother, and they'd certainly never, ever, add or switch anything. Those poor crazies have to purchase an edition with a disc they'd want to watch.
I guess they cannot picture a sweatshop full of Mexicans (for an example of a tradewide release), where the discs from a stacked spindle are being sorted into the Chinese boxes, and elsewhere printed covers. Or similar, albeit on a smaller scale, operation of any Manta or Blufans, where people also add separately manufactured discs into their packages.
The thought alone of 'breaking apart' any edition gives them apocalyptic shivers.

Will there be a group buy for this? Aniv's BlurayLifeStore is closed this week.
Hi All,
I'm posting this on behalf of Aniv because he's away and has difficulty accessing HDN.....
There won't be a big GB for this release at HDN. It might be a small one after the preorder.
If you really want this, please secure it direct at collectong.com or via other channels.
Cheers!

I know it's Marvel, but this shouldn't be THAT difficult to get direct. Other GBs stock haven't exactly flown off the shelves. DL most popular, so that and the comic FS will shift fairly fast. As will the 1/4, as there's only 200 of them. Anyone wanting a OC or FS shouldn't have any problems, if you're online on time.

I don't believe it for a second, it's going to be a bloodbath.

marvel & wea and no bloodbath? you must be new in the steelbook scene
Lol or maybe you're just out of touch? the mcu isn't what it was tbh & the discless thing has really put some people off. It really doesn't help that the slips aren't exactly knockouts either.

I'm not saying it won't sell out, but it won't be another inception.

It won’t be a complete bloodbath mate. None of the comic slips went to GBs except 1 Copy to each host and there was no GB here. Other GBs likes triggers barely filled 2 pages of requests. And the points above that Sam mentioned.

We all know you’re a f**king sloth but for the usual manta website user it won’t be an issue
