Forgot to ask, what's on the back of the international versions of this? I wonder if it will be similar/same?

I already have the Japanese steel (thanks Wreck!) and the French tin with same front artworks, but I'm still in for this. Looking forward to seeing the back art. :)

The japan steel is actually notvery good. The art is nice but theres credits on the front, very lackluster matte finish and its only 2D. People just have blinders on because its Japan. This one is shaping up to be much better for much less. Dont like mondo steels either so this is mandatory foe me. Just need to be able to preorder.

No blinders here; Dredd is the only Japanese steelbook I own. Aesthetically the finish on the Japanese version looks nicer and the zavvi one just looks regular.

IDK. Claiming the JP version finish is aesthetically nicer than Zavvis before its even on preorder kinda implies you have the blinders on to me lol. I have the Japan version as well and the finish is no different than the other matte steels that majority of collectors bash. The front covers are basically identical except there no credits obstructing Zavvi's. Now the back and interior art still remains to be seen and Zavvi could totally butcher it. But what we do know is that its a clean front, includes 3D, more limited and cheaper, which kinda pushes it past JP. Thats just my opinion of course but those points are tough to contest other than...You like it better because of the Katakana on the spine and Slip and keep it sealed, which is cool.

I think it's a stretch to say the Zavvi even 'kinda pushes past' the Japanese version. In its favour it does have 3D, but then some people don't like that on their steelbooks. I too am not keen on the spine colour. The Zavvi artwork does seem to have more fire than the japanese one.

However I'm all in favour of another Dredd steelbook. I really wish Zavvi had an earlier release date though; I was planning on a trip to the Star Trek convention in Vegas and Karl could have signed it! I'll have to make do with with Karl signing the mondo and Netherlands metalpak instead.

Claiming I only like it because it's Japanese, features Katakana and that I keep it sealed with its slip is also a presumptuous argument - none of which are true in my case. From what I can see of the zavvi edition the colours don't look as good as the Japanese matte version, nor does the spine, and you get less of the poster art. I also don't like the "3D" addition to the main title (which is too big) and has wisely been dropped for the MONDO edition too.
