Here in the UK we often like to use the phrase "look at the jugs on that". However, that phrase has completely no relevance to this thread or movie. But, and it is a big but, it is always advisable to look when you hear that phrase.

I much prefer "look at the bangers on that"

Going way off topic I always laughed when House MD would discuss 'puppies', as in 'Looks to me like those puppies are going into the dairy business... '

As for PQ in releases from different countries I seem to recall a debate about this on another site (I don't think it was here on HDN). Many people consider the Japanese 2D version to be the best, I think they complained about the UK version having artifacts in some of the busier action scenes. I recall they said the French version was better for 3D having seperate 3D and 2D discs.

That said, I've never had any complaints with the US blu ray and always watch it in 3D (I thought for 2D they only show one 'side' of the 3D image but I could be wrong). And I have no idea if there are differences in audio quality in different countries.

The Japanese disc has 7.1 audio and gas the best PQ.

The U.K disc suffers from the picture contrast being too high.

To illustrate this, you only have to look at when Dredd enters the block at the beginning of the movie in the background the word Bolland is clearly visible in the Japanese version, in the U.K version this not visible due to the high contrast and washed out colours.

I collect movies I dig. This "I'll stick with Mondo" and "this one is the best" mentality is silliness. I have the others, and the Mondo and Zavvi will be added! There is no 'one or the other' contest here!

The '3D' on the front completely ruins it. Completely.

The Mondo artwork looks better...because it doesn't have '3D' plastered on it like an unwanted tumor

Only reason I would want this is if it's gloss finished. Got the Mondo ordered which looks far nicer but since I can't play that "region lock not confirmed" I can pick up the Amaray for £6 on Amazon.

We definitely need a lot more details on this before purchase. Art on back/Inside, finish etc.

The "3D" is actually an somewhat of an extension of the title. Its on the Official cinema posters incorporated in the title. So its not just slapped up there just because. Only time I haven't seed 3D was on fan-made posters and 2D only releases.

Oh I do LOVE this film, but the fact it's being released by EIV worries me, they aren't know for quality. My fear is that it will be very poor thin metal, with streaky matte finish and washed out art. If they treat the quality of the steel the same as they treat their transfers it will be ghastly. I'm already in for the Mondo release and outside of Marvel I rarely double dip. We definitely need further info as the only reason for me to get this is that I can't watch the Mondo version coming.
