I wish Amazon Jp's packaging was as good as its delivery time. It's sketchy but I have never received anything damaged.

I think most, if not all, Amazon stores package their items poorly. I guess that's the pay off for a good priced item with pretty fast shipping. It's a risk getting something like steelbooks, but I seem to have success most of the time.

I still have quite a wait for my copy of Dredd to deliver. My order status still says "Order in Progress." :(

I can only think this one has been mass produced as you can still order 30 at a time. I bet 10K at least.

I can't wait to see it in the flesh!!!

Received an email from amazon minutes ago saying mine has shipped (thank you google translate).

Now I wonder if anyone out there is planning on making a nice custom art spine so I can cover up the katakana.

I have this on order but will have to wait until mid July as it's shipping with the Amazon.jp Star Trek. :(
Wouldn't bet on this, had Dredd preordered together with Lockout (right back from 9th of April), they waited and waited and then shipped Lockout 'separately' just 2 days prior to Dredd's release date, they shipped it on Saturday and got it yesterday, it's so flipping annoying if you ask me, why wait all this time only to annoy the hell out of me and get it shipped literally few days prior to Dredd's release.

The funny thing DHL called me minutes after I got my shipping notification from Amazon.jp to pay £11.58 in customs, the flipping thing is still in transit and in Japan

Anyway Lockout arrived safe and sound even though they still ship them in those flimsy flat cardboard envelopes  and yes it's a beauty , Dredd shipped this morning and should be with me tomorrow, hope it makes it safely and fingers-crossed it avoids customs although I really doubt it :ohno:

Splitting orders is the reason I stopped buying from Amazon. You group items to get the better packaging and then they split it and send the OOS item on its own in a cardboard envelope...

Unfortunately DHL submits documentation for all their shipments to customs to ensure quick clearance. I don't think I've ever received a DHL package from Japan without charges. Very annoying that Amazon Japan continue to split shipments even when release dates are so close together because in addition to the flimsy packaging UK customers then have to pay double the VAT on the shipping.

I think it's about time the UK revolted! The personal import limits are viciously low. I wouldn't bother buying from amazon.co.jp if I was in England, but the US limits are much higher.

i couldnt work out how to chip to UK from amazon Japan.. although i did try to order after a couple of pints so maybe that was why! only seemed to have local delivery options.
so i went and ordered from HMV instead. just hope it doesnt arrive when im at work and the girlfriend is at home cos i'm gonna be in trouble!!!
