There's too many flaws with this for me. I just can't bring myself to pay that price for a matte Steelbook with the credits on the front under the title (the finished product was actually different to the original pic in the OP) and NO 3D version of the movie.

This movie is so much better when viewed in 3D IMO. The way the film makers intended it to be seen.

I have to agree with ben6212. There is so much better value Steels out there. Which is a shame ;(

I agree about the 3D, the film looks great using the process and it actually enhances the film, making it more immersive!

Is the Japanese Steel really Matt though, as it appears to have a slightly metallic silver hue to it?

I completely disagree. This is a quality steel and at least for the moment the only one of its kind in the world. The 3d disc can be bought for peanuts these days so thats not a real issue. When I bought this I had to pay full whack of customs and import duties (almost 14 gbp) and I still have no regrets!:scat:

But you have to remember there are people out there like me who can't perceive 3D

Yes, but you have other variations of the film to buy if you chose to.

Or, if this Steelbook DID include the 3D, you could still buy it and just watch the regular 2D version.

They should still give you the choice. Especially at that price.

I appreciate that Lollard2002, guess BlueSteel12 was saying it would be nice to have the choice.
I agree with StifflersDad though, I paid full wack and I have no regrets either, it's a lovely steel in my opinion. :scat:

It's also the only option for this fantastic movie, until Entertainment Store get a move on at least! ;)

Have you seen it in hand?

It looks astounding. Like no other steelbook I have.

The cover actually looks 3D. I've never seen such depth in a steelbook cover.
