Yeah, it had such potential and was made beyond annoying by a lead character who was near enough mute. There's a difference between being the "strong silent type" and being "weird and rude".

If you think Gosling's character doesn't talk much in Drive, I wouldn't advise you to watch Winding Refn's follow-up to Drive, Only God Forgives, also starring Gosling. Drive truly does look like a giant blockbuster compared to OGF, and The driver looks like an Aaron Sorkin character compared to Julian (Gosling's character in OGF).

I bet French distributor Wild Bunch will also release a steelbook for Only God Forgives, come October (film was theatrically released May 22). They did so for Drive (which I own and looks amazing :)) and will have a steelbook for The Grandmaster as well. I could imagine a Only God Forgives steelbook too.

Lucky in France - Only God Forgives only comes out in a few weeks theatrically (I've already seen a screener - if Drive is the only Refn film you enjoy you're unlikely to enjoy this one) here in the UK. The Grandmaster still hasn't got a theatrical release date! Terrible.

Eeesh. I have OGF sat on my HDD at the moment, ready for watching. I no doubt will, but will bear that in mind, ta!

Damn , when did this become so popular ?!.
I don't think any movie is worth over £50.00 to me , not when I can purchase the amaray cheaply. I may stick this up for auction, I'll have to have a think.

I just watched this again, last night. Such an awesome film. I am so glad i got this SB for a decent price, in spite of the hit it took during shipping. I just keep the slipcover on it to hide the damage.

Some time soon, i'll buy another.

got a perfect copy for 40 quid. The last steelbook I said I would pay over the odds for.... Yeah... Taken 1... Ahem...

I have steelbook fever!

Please don't say things like that man, damn. :tear:

I wish I could get it for that price. :(

I bet there are some "mint" copies on Ebay.... The package comes, you open it,oh so carefully, the heart is pounding.... wiping sweat from your brow, you look down... J card (tick), no creases to said card (tick) no noticeable marks to top half of steel book (tick)

You take of the J card... and it just blurts out... what the fuuu.. your mother fuu... (kids told to leave room)

You contemplate a marker pen, to cover up the crime. You put the steel book down and squint your eyes "that scratch aint too bad" you say. You then pick it up and down 50 times in a two minute period, in some way hoping the damage will just be a bad dream.

You then consider it a "good price, so you will keep it. 30 seconds later, the OCD monster arrives. There is no way back. You read the listing again "mint?" MINT?! The sweats start again. The missus tries to console you, but all you can do is shout "OOP!" and "SOON TO BE RARE". You are at this point, now shaking with complete rage. "I don't want the f##kin French version" you say.

You message the seller, make him aware of his crimes to humanity. They cave in after you threaten to beat him with a £5.89 copy of Pitch Black.

You get it for £17.99 and it becomes the Jon Snow of your steel book collection.

Of course, you leave that SOB negative feedback!:scat:

The End :D

I was ok with this rant until you ripped Jon Snow. Now you're dead to me.

There will be no taking that insult back in the future and no apology accepted by the old gods or the new. What in seven hells were you thinking?:movie:
