Whilst i agree zavvi needed to give notice if they were releasing early, sometimes this is out of their hands. What would we perfer? Pay up front maybe?

I wasnt expecting this either, but instead of moaning bout it, look forward to getting these in hand. If not happy when you receive it return it. And those that have been cancelled, they will come back for sale, they always do.

My bank stop the payment for this one because they said it was too suspicious to have 3 different transactions from 1 place the same day, so 2 went through but not this one...:( why zavvi does this instead of taking 1 payment...now it looks pending but I'm sure they will canceling it.... I talked to my bank n now they are ok...

I wish my bank would decline all of them. :hilarious:

same thing happened to me with this one and Peter Pan, im pretty sure they will cancel them as the system does not allow me to update the payment info. I really dislike the way they charge them individually

Have you tried clicking on query on your account and tell them to recharge your card. I tried it with despicable me 2 steelbook and they recharged my card.

All my preorders were cancelled because I didn't get money on my card in time.
So sick of them doing this. Yes is nice to get the stock in early but you should still wait till street date or at least not charge until you send out emails. And at least give us the option to be charged or to wait to ship.

And I don't want to hear...well if you don't have the money then you shouldn't have bought it. Some of us do have the money. I just figures most places don't charge you till street date not a f'ing week before the dang movie comes out.
I cancelled all my Zavvi orders as I don't give a rats ass about this piss poor ran company.

i feel sorry for all you guys that had problems with the payment problems.
it seems that zavvi really messed this up, because instead of letting people cancel their orders if they decide to do so, we now have a lot of cancelled orders from people who really wanted one and looked forward to it.

they probably wanted to avoid the late cancellation wave (like toy story recently), and now have to deal with unwanted cancellations and even more cancelled orders because people get angry about this.

at least there is hope that we can re-order soon. ;)

That is a bunch of BS, that would be like the government, hydro, or telephone companies raising their rates & not telling anyone, then afterwards just saying, "we can raise the rates up or lower the rates if we feel like it & not tell anyone" There would be an outrage from people because people need to know when changes are coming, & Zavvi is no different. Fine change the release date, but let us know & let us know when the shipping date is.

I agree! This is complete BS! They have no right to do this without informing us first, especially at the last minute! They haven't even bothered to alter the dates on their website listings, or eMail customers! Everybody is expecting Dumbo to be released on the 17th and have probably budgeted for that scenario. It's not the date change which people are complaining about - It's the fact that Zavvi didn't bother to inform customers prior to dispatch

This BS smacks of desperation on Zavvi's part. Any excuse to take people's money at the earliest chance they can!

---------- Post added at 07:00 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:57 AM ----------

I also believe that Zavvi are deliberately trying to generate more copies by catching people unaware. Obviously most people will not have the funds in place, and payment problems will occur. Zavvi will then cancel the orders and put them back up for dale - or will do like they did with Aladdin and sell them via eBay, albeit at a marked up price! SCUM!

your two statements contradict your thoughts and the last one makes no sense at all. So Zavvi wants money as fast as possible so they charge early. But then they are also charging early because they know they wont get money.... can cancel the order.....so they can put it back up for order?

Its already known as almost a fact they always have cancellations to sale shortly after release so whats the point of the evil plan you think they have. And when was the last time they put an OOS steel on their ebay at a marked up price?

Dont get this confused with protecting Zavvi because I do think people have a right to be upset with them for charging early w/o notice. But its the outlandish evil genius ideas that people think Zavvi come up with that makes me  Your giving them too much credit. I jut think they are clueless. Not Malicious.

Its Official...

Matte Finish
(From Zavvi on Facebook)
''I have spoken to our buying team and they have advised that these titles will have a matte finish to the case. Kind regards, Chris''

Can someone explain to me why it is Zavvi's fault for releasing a movie to people who have pre-ordered the movie?

As far as I'm concerned, if you missed a payment, that is a life problem, not a Zavvi problem.

I'm sure many people are happy to receive it early and I'm sure Zavvi is happy to ship it early. There are many issues with Zavvi, but this is not one of them.

Answer is very simple Customer Service

Amazon let you know if your order has a release date change
Your informed if date is been moved to an earlier date or a later date with an option to cancel your order if needed

Customers budget there spending on release dates if that date changes and there not informed how are they expected to make sure funds are available on their Debit Card/Credit Card/Pay Pal Account
Some People are paid Monthly/Bi Weekly/Weekly so its important to know when a debit is due

Zavvi at the moment only send you an email if the release date has changed to a later date and only if your original order had an earlier date
Order Status Email Thanks for placing your order with us at zavvi, order number XXXXX We're sorry that your order for the product(s) below has not yet been sent

Zavvi never inform customers if the release date has been moved to an earlier date

It very simple Zavvi must at all times if a release date is changing they must inform the customer before payment is going to be taken

This is not good. I am on holiday at the moment and all of the Disneys shipped early will end up in customs and will be returned to zavvi if I don't pick them up.
I asked the customer service to send them later but they are not able (or not willing ?) to do so.
I guess I will be missing Dumbo, Lady and the Tramp and Peter Pan.

Zavvi have updated there website to now show
Release Date: 10 February 2014 :naughty:

Bit late for that should have been changed last week at the latest
