I am about to sell a ton of my old dvd's and things i no longer need to fund for a new TV. I think I am better off selling individual items rather than one huge bulk lot. In the past I've just listed each item one after another. Is that the best way to do it, or is there a program that will allow me to create ton's of auctions and save me lots of time?

I'm talking over 1000 dvd's are about to go, so if I want to kill my entire weekend listing them.. What do you suggest? How do you do it?

I tried ebays turbo lister, but so far its taking me more time to use it that just list on ebay itself.

Thanks for any tips/help!

Well, since this thread has resurfaced i'll tell you how it's been going. I started selling singles, as they were taking about a minute or less to get on ebay. You get 50 free listings a month, so I started with that. Then ebay offered free listing auction style for a few weeks and I ended up putting close to 300 titles up.

I started everything at a penny and a few sold for that, but the majorty seemed to go for around a dollar, and a few went for much more than that. I had two titles go for 37$ each, so all in all, I am glad I didn't list them in bulk as those 60$ titles would have been grouped in bunches of small stuff, and maybe sold for 50$ total.

Oh.. of those 300 titles, only about 45 didn't sell, so those will go back up as a bulk auction at some point.

So I think it's worth it to sell singles, if you're willing to put in the time. I didn't do all 300 in one sitting. Only about 30 or so in the morning when I got home from work, and another 30 or so before I went to work.

Its a lot of work to package up 300 titles though. isn't it?

What I do is research the completed listings for DVD's that sold for say $20 or higher, and sell only those ones on ebay.

Ones that are worth less, to me, are not worth the time/fees to sell on ebay.

It would have taken more time to research each title, than it did to just put them up.

Yes it took awhile to package up the titles, but the majority of the "winners" got more than 1 title. And a few won close to 20 titles. So some were painless. But since they were spaced out over about a weeks time, it wasn't too bad. Maybe a hour out of my day.

It totally depends on the seller and what you have to sell. If you have some sets or more rare movies, then those are worth listing separately, because people tend to know that 'lots' should be cheaper 'per', because they feel they are buying in bulk. Or in some cases from someone that is in a hurry. If money is an issue pull out those that seem to have some worth. If space, or just ridding yourself of items is more important than that, box it up, take a pic, and make a list and be done with it. All comes down to priorities, level of patience, and the primary motive for sale, imo. Most shops that resell will give you minimum (offline retail stores), because they can only sell most used DVD's for a few bucks if that, so they want to secure some 'average margin'. Then there are programs such as Amazon's trade in, but as is the case with offline shops, they're looking to resell to bulk buyers, and won't give you what a private buyer, at say, an outdoor market, etc would give you. DVD's for the most part, unless some collectors ed or oop are a dime a dozen for most 'average releases'. But Ebay can still provide a worldwide market place if you have some good titles, or just want to get rid of bunches of things in bulk, quick.

I would just worry about selling your valuable ones - more likely to sell.

No one is going to buy an I, Robot DVD for 50 cents so dont waste your time trying to sell the dvds that everyone already has.

Funny thing. I just had listed I, Robot DVD for sale this past week. It went for 5$ shipped. So def worth the single listing to me.
