Apparently they will print a sample of the Fullslip and decide whether to use full or spot holofoil. So it may not be full rainbow afterall fyi

Now I’m hoping they go Full holofoil as I ordered the bloody lenti! Spot foil on the robotic bits ( don’t get excited @Mickle_89 ) would suit much better and that’s why I skipped the Fullslip as I thought they weren’t doing that.

So far I never got more than one premium edition per film, but if they do FS correctly, it may change (secured PET last night).

I mean, choosing between these two seems impossible; last time I felt this way was with PA's Oldboy, and today I regret not getting both A and B.

If I'd get both FS and PET, perhaps I could store my WWA steelbook in PET... and keep FS as it is?

With no embossing to the steelbook itself, will be interesting to see if the full slip has the flesh-coloured parts in the foreground embossed - Ava's face and hand … not the mask - (as they ought to be) and in a matte finish to contrast with the glossy metallic sections.

Don't see the point at all of a full holofoil / prismatic effect on what is after all a very classy, cool, clean, understated and neutral-coloured slip … only place suitable here for the treatment I'd say is the neck area … although it could add a certain interest to the title too:-

I think this is nicer than my FAC but I can’t justify two exclusives of a film I enjoy but don’t love. It’s always difficult when something better comes out much, much later but that’s just the way that it goes sometimes.

I sure hope there’s an eventual Annihilation exclusive from someone.

So here is some news, the full slip will be holofoil with "only" SHINY parts being shiny and also some texture to the areas that require it.

In short, it will be awesome.

awesome thanks for the update, @Aniv! i am sure the PET will be great, but with your update, i've surprised myself and gone for the Full Slip. been looking at them for days, now , and although i love a lenti and really love a PET, the PET full slip image was too much like the steel (same head position), and the back is the same as the old WWA front. even if the revised holofoil isn't quite right (although please say it is!), it will be new artwork i like.

nice to be able to have to rationalise a choice, instead of only having one half-decent to go for one - three good designs, here.

Sounds to me like it's entirely holofoil, but the parts that should be "shiny" will have both the holofoil coating and spot gloss added on top of that. So the holofoil will still be everywhere, but it will only be pronounced in certain areas.

Most (maybe all) full holofoil slips are also glossed, which significantly exaggerates the effect of the holofoil (rainbows are much more vivid and intense). For an example of what holofoil looks like without gloss added to it, see the spot holofoil on Nova's Ultron (front cover) or Nightcrawler (also front cover). It's a more subtle effect, but it also washes out the image underneath.

This is all educated guesswork, by the way. I could easily be completely off base.

^ This! Once its printed if the desired effect is not achieved it will be switched to spot. It wont be shiny all over regardless like typical holofoil. So you wont see rainbows everywhere haha.
