Wasn't going to bother with this but seeing as everyone else is... ORDERED!! :hilarious:

On a serious note we've got a little one on the way so my excuse is I'm storing up all these Disney films for him/her ;)

That's why I'm doing this too ;). Though I don't have a kid on the way, in fact I don't even have a girlfriend :(... yeah no I'm totally doing it for me :D.

But seriously, I like to think that Blu-ray technology will hold up for the next decade or so at least, and that my collection will still be relevant when I hopefully have a kid :p.

I know it's ludicrous to think that someone won't come up with a groundbreaking way to watch films at home, but I don't see how you can top that without getting into stupid concepts. Yes, there is 3D and 4K, neither are revolutionary enough to replace Blu-ray because they just complement it. Holograms and wacky things like that, that's never going to be a crowdpleaser.

So I foolishly hope Blu-ray is the end of the line. And even if it's not, I don't see how you can produce objects more collectible and easy to store than steelbooks in this format. You can't sell films on chips, it'll never work. I don't see another VHS/DVD revolution coming.

Thus when I clicked on the "Buy" button for Fantasia an hour ago, I did so thinking that this is a long-term investment :D.

Not bothered about this but ordered anyway. Feel like i should own all the Disney classics in steel. I haven't ordered Planes for this reason.
