Could HMV get back in the game. Maybe push Zavvi to do better.
Seeing that this is bombing at the Box Office, is getting bad reviews and word of mouth and is getting written off as a possible $60 million loss by the studio... This will be in stores long enough for it to appear in HMV's 5 for £30 offers. Can't see this selling well at all.
I am personally not a big fan of this series so I don't tend to see any of them. Here, I am speaking about consumers' choice of all kinds of releases (not just 'big franchises'), where retailer plans and variety are concerned. It gets dangerous when major retailers fall out of releasing desirable collectibles all together, because then you're back down to only a few choices. The more choices, the more variety in titles, artwork, etc. Not all retailers care to respond to artwork feedback or other criticism (only a few currently actually even try to do this at all). I won't be picking this up, but it's a positive thing that HMV is trying to be back in the exclusives market, imo.
Normally I'd be jumping on any comic book SteelBook but I think I'll wait to see if this hits the bargain bin in HMV.
Currently rated 4/10 on Imdb.

I'm gona wait this one out, can't see it selling out and hopefully a similar price to spiderman 2 at some point
