Yup, using Chrome both are still active and able to Pre-order as of less than a minute ago.

After hiding at work and anxiously looking on my phone I'm glad I checked this thread before dinner, now I have both on preorder 
My guess is that the links didn't work continuously because Zavvi wanted to avoid overselling. If this is true, it's really scary that some companies use software like this in the 21th century ...
