Second Sight have had Steelbooks before a few of them and all sold out quickly

Ah so they have, I had a search, they were releasing horror steelbooks (Basket Case, Scanners, Re-Animator, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre), Some of them before I started collecting, others of no interest to me, maybe that's why I did not notice.

Has this even had a blu-ray release in UK yet?

Yes, from four years back (using the original poster artwork):-

Love this film and great to see another from Second Sight even with skimpy Extras

and the outfit is clearly no Arrow or Eureka with usually a wealth of Special Features.

(Second Sight would certainly make my day/week/month/year with a companion steelbook for the ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 digipack I bought the other day but I'd have to be on the ball for that because as a film that defines "cult" blink and it'll be gone)

I was only thinking of this when I was ordering Enemy Mine

Artwork not brilliant but quality childhood film

The Wraith would be awesome along with The last star fighter and on a different note where is Beverly Hils cop 2 and Lethal Weapon 2?

Awesome, love this movie. Are you seeing this @chunk ?

Thanks for the tag harry, much appreciated :notworthy:;)

Been trying to cut back on steelbook's for 2017 and have cancelled most of my pre orders, but this.. is a must have.
I've always wanted this in steel since I started collecting, (using the original artwork of course).. so it's a shame its not there.. I like the artwork though but absolutely hate that title font:vomit: still a day one must have for me:oohyeah: negatives and positives for this release.
I did buy blu ray last year and then needed some cash so I sold it (still holding out hope of a steelbook down the line:cigar: )I never watched the BD so I have no idea of the PQ, I sold it still sealed.

I have an A4 size mini poster in my 80's corner display, so I can look at that.. but I am disappointed they didn't use it here.. change that font and this could look pretty good though. :)

I love this film.

But I also remember that the dvd was literally free with a Saturday newspaper a few years ago.

So what was a freebie with a newspaper is now £16.99?

Just goes to show what chucking a film in a steelbook can do for perceived value

A free dvd? Dude, a dozen dvd's cost £1.00. You can't compare dvd and blu-ray, man :D

i did say a few years ago. ie, in the dvd generation.

besides, the flight of the navigator dvd costs £9.72 on amazon right now. the bluray costs £9.89.
a 17p difference.

a dozen dvd's would cost £116.64, not £1.00

That's quite a few years ago :)
And no person in their right mind would pay almost £10 for a dvd if there is a blu-ray available for the same price. Fact!

Just browsed through amazon.de and found that german bluray version is cheaper than a dvd which by definition means it's a giant rip off :)

as an 80s kid, this was easily one of my favorite movies growing up. probably seen it at least 20 times.

artwork is pretty lame.

Lover this movie, but the title looks more like Hight of the Navigator
Lol.. I was gonna say that yesterday when I posted.. it just looks wrong.. I don't know why designers sometimes change the title fonts on steelbook art:confused: this film has had a few different title fonts used on posters, film sleeves etc but I have no memory of ever seeing that font used for this film, it looks terrible
This font would have made the steelbook so much better

I don't ever understand when there is awesome artwork available that's when they try something different:confused: over the years here I've seen many people wanting this to be a steel with this artwork

I'm still waiting for another release of Big, not that there's much great artwork out there for that but I'm sure they can do better than the one I have
