That's from the flash - if u photo a lot of steels often u will notice that sometimes using a flash will make a matte steel look glossy

It's certainly a lot better than the recent powdery matte finish steels. For example on the back, you cannot see streaks of black paint. The front is very reflective, there are metallic elements like jungle book. It's very distinctive on the red at the bottom and the gold pops. The girl and the title has a strong golden metallic shine.

Also the three edges (not including spine) have been glossed. Probably to add resilience to paint chips when storing on your shelves. A nice touch.

No gloss on the red at the bottom, but it's metallic red. It's the same metallic effect as the girl and title but not glossed.

Just uploading some close ups. It's a very nice effect. You can see the brushed steel if you enlarge the photos when clicking on them.

Just on the left and right of the light at the bottom on the red part, you can make out the Brushed Steel effetc.

The girls blonde hair has the brushed steel effect but is glossed.

Brushed steel effect again can be seen on the ANET of planet.

^^ That to me looks and sounds like the 'Zero Finish'. Jungle Book and Finding Nemo had the same finish (think the UK Looper had it too). It's not matte but not gloss either, more of a metallic brushed effect.

I like the look of this a lot. High quality steelbook with unique embossing.

+1 ES are bringing out some class steels for sure. This is how to do embossing and make the most out of it. Puts steelbooks like the recent Planet of the Apes to shame. All that border for a tiny title, what were they thinking? This is how it should be done. Well done ES

Looks absolutely tremendous. Was hoping to have my very own copy today but the post has been and gone. It was bountiful in terms of Seven Samurai and Halloween steelbooks but entirely lacking in Forbidden Planets!
