Same steelbook that was released in Germany/France in November 2017

European steelbooks that was released recently

Forbidden Planet
Bullitt
Dog Day Afternoon
Zodiac

I expect Zavvi to announce Zodiac soon also

I also expect we will see more warner back catalog steelbooks announced in 2018

Agreed. The ES exclusive steel is going to be impossibly hard to beat... it's one of my all-time favourite steels! Which reminds me... I still haven't actually checked out the film yet. :bag:

ES steel of Forbidden Planet is one of the best steels in my collection. I would only part with it if a premium package came along that bested it. Fat chance.

As for the film... it’s a gem. Settle in late night with a cold frosty or a warm whiskey depending on your preference and pop this movie in!

Alright I gotta get on this bandwagon.

Again? Another Forbidden Planet? Can't see this getting anywhere near the Play version.

I personally don't know anything about any of the Forbidden Planet steelbooks and I have never seen the film either. No I will not be picking this up even if it does have the same finish as the ES version, whatever that was. And I don't need to know.

And no, virkia, I don't need a full display of other people's pics of every steelbook, poster or amaray version that exists of this title. :)

Like the film, however the one thing that really irritates me every time I watch it is the way the crew continually call the Captain 'Skipper' in chirpy can-do voices. Makes me think I'm watching a cheesy WWII naval battle movie. The rest of it holds up great though.

What makes it sad is that the original 1950's film is one of my all time favourites but no money on earth would make me buy that steelbook travesty.
