blank back artwork :(
To see that that's not unusual for Eureka steelbooks check out the SPOILER in post #827 . . . admittedly this back is barer than usual, that's for sure, and most unfortunately in this case it looks like the absence of artwork and the dark paint colour is serving to highlight all the niggling defects in the finish.
That being said I've not got a bad word to say about this steelbook.

Shame about the Qc problems, looks good otherwise, waiting for mine to arrive and if it is chipped and scratched then good it will fit in with my collection, I haven't had a mint steel in ages..

maybe not unusual, but we all buy such releases because of the packaging and not for the movie itself, otherwise we could buy just the amaray release and stop collecting steelbooks. a blank back side is more worse than a printed back side, just my opinion.
imagine you would spend $70 for a blufans, novamedia, manta lab, kimchidvd, plain archive release and get a blank back side.

Got mine today, back has the same scratches as previously mentioned by other members but it doesn't bother me at all as no artwork has been damaged - overall very satisfied with the release

I like the use of the original artwork as the menu screen, but they missed the opportunity to add any music. It's just silent.

If not music, then I would have added ambient creepy outdoor sounds and make the window light flicker on & off showing the silhouette.

Not a rant, but more of something I would have done if I was designing the menu. :)

I would have loved that ! You should apply for a designer job in a dvd authoring company

That said there was indeed plenty of cool stuff that could have been done for the menu of this movie. Like the creepy "friiiight niiiiight" from Peter Vincent'show when you hit "play film"

blank back artwork

All the backs of Eureka steelbooks are like that. I have no problems with it as it's consistent with their style and to date every one of their steelbooks have been excellent. Not once have I went "Yuk" I would rather have an excellent designed minimalist steelbook than a pop art one any day of the week.

That does not apply to we all
Lot's of HDN members and others outside of HDN purchase a steelbook for the steelbook and the movie and they open the steelbook take out the Blu-ray and watch the film.:p
Some don't even purchase any amaray releases and only get a steelbook release of the film and is purchased to watch the film
It's a minority of steelbooks purchased that are kept sealed

I purchase new releases I don't have on Blu-ray the steelbook version regardless if amaray cheaper and only purchase a amaray if no steelbook version is available or new edition has better picture and extras

^ #865 Standard practice in the early days of steelbooks here in the U.K. to have fully printed backs and even, shock horror, printed banners on the fronts . . . don't know the situation in other countries.
No knowledge of premium editions but obviously artwork missing on one of those such as a blank back would be a major cause for concern if you've paid upwards of 50 quid for it.

what I wanted to say was: when you have one (or even more opened copies) you buy such release only because of the packaging. I didnt even know that Eureka does such blank back artworks.

Eureka does blank backs, end of question. I have all the Eureka steelbooks so this is ideal. Consistant approach is ideal.

All of Eureka steelbooks are blank on the back
If your new to getting eureka steelbooks as in not purchased one before it's understandable if your surprised to seeing a blank back

If you purchased Eureka Steelbook before then it's not a surprise
Eureka being doing steelbooks for years but would not be as regular as other film distributors

I open all my steelbooks and watch the Blu-ray Disc even if I already had same film already on Amaray Blu-ray

I have over 500 Steelbooks everyone of them opened and the Disc inside used to play in my Blu-ray Player even if I already have it on Amaray
