Sorry I meant the one that was already released, I pre-ordred it as soon as I could earlier in the year - Fright Night 2 like Re-animator 2 (Bride or Re-animator) is a sequel some like and some do not but I personally love them both immensely

Thanks ! I figured it out reading your posts on the mediabook tread
Like them both too, but i prefer the first one.
I will try to get a replacement disc from amazon, i knew there was an issue, not that they did provide replacements... it is a bit late to complaint cause i bought it 11 september, but we'll see !

As a sort of "millennial" film goer and saw this film for the first time (the German Blu) some months aback and highly enjoyed it. It's excellent, I wish I'd seen it before the remake, which I also enjoyed but not as much as the original. It's got a lot more soul and Chris Sarandon is cast perfectly. Surprised people are falling out of love with it, so if you haven't seen it I recommend that you do.

I love this movie and I'm a huge fan of the sequel, it's not as good as the first but it's still great fun.

I'm hoping Eureka will pick up the second movie.

If they do, no doubt they will put the rest of the "You're so cool Brewster" documentary as an extra and make the separate whole documentary worthless (Although I would 100% purchase a Part 2 steelbook if it happened)

Yes, you took the words right out of my mouth . . . and, if it's a possibility, let's hope it's Eureka and not some other outfit that can get their mitts on it . . .
A matching steelbook to sit next to the first film steelbook with this artwork on the front -v- and the same finish would be as cool as could be:-

My copy had a scratched back. Unlike many I preferred the remake with David Tennant as Peter Vincent. For the first ten minutes or so I thought it was going to be another terrible horror remake film, but it really surprised me.

I'm watching the extras, and the sound is pretty poor at times. I don't know why they felt the need to have that piano playing in the background.

I had a laugh when Julie Carmen said that Roddy was gay and that it was 'before Stonehenge'. Finally the mystery is revealed. Stonehenge was built for gay orgies.

As much as I liked David Tennant in Dr Who I thought he was totally miscast in the remake of Fright Night. He lacked that B Movie Ham quality that Rodney McDowell had in the original..... You could almost see Plan 9 from Outer Space lurking in the background when McDowell appeared on screen.

For me McDowell and Tennant were both good in their own right, two completely different performances. That's why I have a fondness for the remake, it takes the same path but does it's own thing. Only gripe about remakes is the CGI, but I didn't feel it had been used in abundance in the 2011 version.

Warms my heart to see the love flowing for Part 2 around these parts.

Received mine today. I never leave these things sealed but I'm tempted to do so here and pick up the standard release down the line. :watch:
