Very true. Also The American, Out Of Sight, The Ides Of March, Syriana and Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind.
He's a great actor and From Dusk Till Dawn might be his coolest movie but not his best.

IMO.

Don't forget this gem.

O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Can't wait to see the artwork for this once it comes out. I hope it is like Wickerman.

Man this is getting silly. I need a new book self just to hold all the Zavvi releases coming out !!

Not only that but they are breaking peoples wallets. lol They need to slow down just for a little bit. I mean I don't need to kidneys I guess.

Yeah, that's a good one too. It had been many years since I first saw it so I recently rewatched it and it's really really good.
It's hard to not like a movie made by the Coen-brothers and starring George Clooney.

This Rodriguez gem and Out Of Sight are Clooney's finest hours imo. He plays a damn good bad guy, his attitude in this is second to none.

I'll never forget the first time watching From Dusk Til Dawn. I flew to Wimbeldon with a friend to stay with his sister for a weekend and it had just come out for rental along with Pulp Fiction. We grabbed a copy of both and sat down to watch them back to back with his sister and brother in-law and a ton of alcohol.

Pulp went on 1st and we were quite young and didn't really get into it to be honest, the timeline was all over the place LOL! but I do remember digging Jules' scenes. Funny how music and film interests change as you age.
Anyway, all 4 of us had consumed quite a bit of booze by the time FDTD came on, (SPOILER ALERT)
we were loving it and really getting into the heist part of the 1st half, then out of nowhere after the Salma dance it just went bananas and took a completely different turn, the atmosphere in the room changed big time,
we were like two kids on a Saturday morning in awe and the brother in-law was in stitches at what he was witnessing, his bellowing laughter filled the room LOL.

While some might argue that Sin City is Rodriguez's best movie (and it is a damn fine movie) I like to think this one is, you have to hand it to him for that pure originality. It was his bash at a grindhouse flick in a way years before Planet Terror. I always get a kick out of watching it and love the two genres mixing in the middle. If I had to pick a weak link it would be Tarantinos character but I can deal with him.

I cannot wait for the artwork to be revealed on this old favourite, I'm praying Zavvi don't let us down and give us something original and cool because if they give us anything as decent as Play.com's treatment of Pulp Fiction you can be damn sure I'll be buying this movie in a heartbeat for the 4th time on steelbook format ;)

HURRY UP ZAVVI!!!

Am I right in thinking the that UK release only had Dolby Digital audio and a dodgy transfer?

I have the Canadian Steelbook and it has an awesome DTS-MA track and the PQ is spot on.

No way man, I picked up the amaray last year, Lionsgate did the transfer for the UK. I thought it was an amazing disc in the video and audio depatments. My wife even commented on the surround activity during a scene with bats.

One bummer is it's missing the amazing doc, full tilt boogie. I just kept disc 2 of my old dvd set. When the steel comes out I'm throwing the DVD out that comes with it and placing the extras DVD disc in place with the Blu
