400 copies of the lenti sold through the kimchi site and 200 of the 1/4 slips. I agree Kimchis site crashed but I got to the checkout page. If the full alotment was on Kimchi, I MAY have been able to complete the order. I always have been before.

same here-which is why I am so tired this morning-site crashed at leaset twice and then wouldn't check out at 8 minuted past-will have to hit up the next GB-can anyone run me through it as I am a GB virgin?

sadly no...some posts in the 1/4slip gb thread were deleted...mine involving :(

tried to post several times there, but the site did not respond, in the end occured a message that there has to be some time difference between the posts (4 secs or so?)

at least i have the lenti

Let's hope Choi and Tony can come to some sort of an agreement and have all future Kimchi Exclusives go thru this method. Or just raise the amount between 1000-1500 for the lenticular and 500 for the 1/4 slip.

But by far this was the toughest to get.

My post for the 1/4 slipcover was deleted. Not good at all, i thought that I made it through. Very disappointing situation here. I was happy that it went through this morning (after not getting work out during KimChi release nor the first group buy) and I was checking the post and found that my post is not there now, somehow was deleted...

Completely agree with you there. I am not sure how I feel about a group buy where everyone theoretically had a chance to order it for themselves and if kimchi site crashed then everyone again is in the same boat. Fair is fair. I am not too bothered I missed this BUT I will be f***ing pi**ed off if the whole quantity of Iron Man or Rush is not available for everyone to have a fair crack of the whip. I Do Not want or need to join a group buy to get a steel I should be able get for myself directly.

So for an extra $2 for a much better opportunity, you'd rather say sod it and walk away without?

I seem to remember reading (and please someone correct me if I'm wrong) that the reason Frozen was released like this is because of it's popularity in Korea, KimchiDVD were worried nobody else would get an opportunity to purchase, so they set aside copies to ensure everyone could get one.

I think the problem being is that we saw that the Kimchi server cannot handle the load (and interest) of the worldwide collector base.

Upgrading one's server is no trivial task, and can be extremely difficult if it requires a new actual piece of hardware, and for that piece of hardware to be configured like the old machine. It's not like Tony can probably afford to take down his store over a couple of days to upgrade it, especially when 95% it probably works fine for him.

Having said that, this group buy was a direct response to the fact that with Thor 2, many members here saw copies of Thor 2 end up in the hands of resellers at HUGELY inflated prices and had no opportunity to get those items.

So which is better, to let the resellers win and get more copies, or to let folks like the collectors on this forum have a shot?

Having said that, if we are to do this again (and I have no idea, at this point if it will happen), there is room for improvement on the HDN side of things to get the go live times published sooner and perhaps divide the group buy up in a different way.

But unfortunately, evidence shows that many members were not able to order for themselves at a time that worked for them on Thor 2.

Not sure how the Kimchi fulfillment system works, but I don't think we can expect them to be up at 2AM their local time (or whatever) to turn on their listing for sales for UK or worldwide steelbook collectors.

In conclusion, I'd have to say overall this worked out well for the majority of there members here, and if we do another one in the future, we can improve the process.

The GB announcement, scheduling, and promotion happened in less than 4 hours time from when I heard that we had copies to pass along.

All very positive, IMO

Jorge - your post was deleted if you did not reach the thread in time to make the request.

The first wave of items was 150 & 50. Based on when you posted your response, you would get a copy.

Then for wave #2, it was the next 150 & 50. If there were any duplicates in names posted, then the next person that just missed the cut would be put on the list.

So that's how it works, so you are aware for next time.

As a general tip to all members - it works in your favor to do a "quick reply" if you are viewing the thread and post your request that way.

You can even just post "HELLO" and edit your post later, to say...

1 for me, USA or whatever.

Hope that helps

That's a great tip. Definitely being using that on Iron man when that comes up for pre order

I do not have a paypal account and I don't want one ( I have my reasons ). I would rather order direct with a credit card. If HDN could work out a way to pay for a group buy with credit card ( maybe via HDN shop? ) that would be GREAT!!!! Then that would be best of both worlds.
