If anyone missed out on this you cant really complain
It was available to order from 25th of December
It was still available on Release Day
That was 3 Months you had to place an order

It was obvious this would eventually sell out in fact I was very surprised it did not sell out a lot faster considering it had a 3D Disc and 3D version was not getting a Release in USA and they also did not have any steelbook release at all

There was plenty of Warning that Frozen Blu-ray was going to have massive number of sales
It has so far been the best sold Blu-ray title release ever
On its First day of Release it sold 3.2 million discs in its first day of home-media release and that just the USA Market all in 1 Day

You will see a 3D USA Release end of this Year or early next year with more extras included so its possible USA will also get a steelbook then

You can also expect to see another release in the UK with more extras next year so I would not be surprised if they released another steelbook then also

its not really that easy is it. lets not forget there were a tonne of other disney steels this year, along with other 'unmissable' steelbooks.

personally, i couldnt afford to buy all the releases that were coming out, and if i remember correctly, the steelbook release schedule around the release date of frozen was particularly busy. if it wasnt this steel that got the chop, it would have been another.

its a gamble, buy one steel at the expense of another and hope the one you didnt buy stays in stock so you can get it later. typically this one sold out.

Lesson with Disney is you don't gamble with steebook releases as there is always the bigger chance you can have a Disney release sold out than any other release

I always order Disney Titles and keep them on order if funds are tight and I need to cancel a release I choose another release that's not Disney
If you have a title on order that you know will not sell out soon that's the one you pick to cancel and reorder at a later stage when funds are better
Sometime we get caught with a release been sold out like Worlds End or Rush or Kick Ass 2 but most of the time the other releases are still around for a good while
Disney Releases is one that can have a sold out at any stage
The signs were there to be seen this was going to be a massive success in Blu-ray sales

Neither could I, there has been alot of steelbooks, and people actually have to buy other things that don't come in collectable tins :D

It was £25 and at the time I hadnt heard of it so it was alot of money for me.

It really is sad instead of being happy you didnt miss it or saying sorry that the person did miss it, people complain, it was avaliable for ages, blah blah, not everyone can afford to buy EVERY steelbook even months after release :(

I cant afford every Steelbook but I never cancel a Disney Release
I do cancel other studio releases and lot of the time I end up getting them cheaper in the end when they are sold at cheaper price and I have funds available then

If anyone missed out sorry you missed out (You will have another chance later this year or next year) but do remember one thing the extras were very little with this release for a reason

That reason is their going to release another one with more extras end of this year or early next year ;)

You also might see another Steelbook release also with the new extras ;)

I think that what caught a lot of people out is that it got very bad feedback here when the pics were revealed (''no title anywhere on Steelbook'', ''don't like the artwork'', ''it's going to be another horrible matte finish'' etc......) and a lot of people jumped on that bandwagon and didn't order it.

Wether those people who were moaning and winging initially about it went out and ordered it anyway remains to be seen (as it sold in bucket loads!!) But I think a lot of people didn't want to fork out €30 for something they weren't happy with and were hoping they would pick it up cheaper down the road with a price drop.

Zavvi's Iron Man 3 had a similar reaction when it was released last year. But the difference with that was THIS Frozen had the 3D version included (when there was no 3D version released AT ALL in the U.S) So there was a huge collectability factor to begin with. Also, it was one of the BIGGEST films of last year. One of Disney's most successful films to date. There was no escaping it.

I appreciate that now and since have bought the remaining disney ones over time. Except Aladdin which again at the time i missed and has never come back and is too expensive for me on ebay.

I didnt know about this until it was sold out, didnt really go on here at all till recently although i joined wee while ago. Only really started collecting steelbooks not to long ago.

I only collect ones of films i like i open them and watch them, no other reason. :)

I thought that with the reaction to the first Iron Man i forked out the £25 and its still avaliable now :(

Any I seem to get are always avaliable ages after,

101 Dalmatians (March 10, 2014)
Frozen (March 31st, 2014)
Cinderella (April 7th, 2014)
Bambi (April 7th, 2014)

that is £100 worth of steelbooks within one month.. too much for me. i got three of them, and even that is too expensive.

all released in close proximity. not to mention pixar releases too (which i was forced to ignore). i considered the old classics more important than frozen... out of those 4, frozen was the only one i didnt buy, and it was the only one that sold out lmao its just bad luck.

i only started felling gutted about missing frozen after hearing it won oscars etc.. so it is actually a 'good' film. i dont particularly like the art, but i think it would be good to have in the collection.

If they put the price up then I'm out, honestly, it's a mediocre steelbook by comparison and I couldn't justify it for £22.49 back then even with a code.

In the meantime I'll be watching this thread like a hawk and I suggest you do the same if you want be in it to win it.

I fully understand that I spent well over €300 on steelbooks in months of March/April and it was a struggle

I have crazy amount on order of fox titles in June but I can and will cancel most of them as they are on general release from other retailers and will be available for a good while although I would recommend if you have the longest day on order don't cancel that one if you don't want to risk not getting it

Disney releases the next ones they wont all be on June 4th that wont happen they will be spread out for months July/August

Budgeting for future releases is hard and you may have to cancel sometimes but I think ahead in advance and plan my budget for those months
Sometimes a surprise bill can affect this but most of the time its planning well in advance your spending budget

If you order to much without planning what budget you will have you end up having to cancel or have a declined transaction

I have spent in last year over a thousand euro on steelbooks alone EEK!
