What is with the no title crap...I don't mind if other Disney Steelbooks were like this but they arn't

First Thor 2, now this....jeez

It's hard to swallow when you can't complain to anyone, you would think if you complain to Zavvi enough they would complain to Disney

"Listen guys, we've had a **** number of complaints recently, we know you guys are in charge and all and we're selling your product but we can't sell it for you if people don't like it....get where we are going"

I have contacted Disney and told them to read the posts on this website
I have posted the links of Frozen and Thor 2
and also that they read all Disney posts of the other titles

I messaged them that steelbook most customers want
Steelbooks be Glossy like Aladdin Steelbook
Title be on the Spine
Title on front artwork and if possible be embossed or debossed

I will post any feedback I get from Disney

the title will be on the j card lol

That's really avoiding the point that a lot of posters are trying to make. There are people (myself included) who store their steels in a 'catalogue' format, spines facing outwards. There are a multitude of reasons for this, running from space issues to simple preference. For such people, the growing number of steels without a title on the spine is becoming an increasing frustration, it's as simple as that. The lack of a title is also something that any opener will have to deal with; let's not pretend a j-card has the permanence of a slip.

i think steelbooks have evolved into something more than just a case for a film. its like a piece of art, an object to be admired. people want the steelbook to look nice, and most importantly- different to the standard release. so most steelbooks dont have any text on the back now, and what text there is on the front is minimal. when presented this way, people will pick up and admire a steelbook as an object, nobody does that with a plastic amaray case.

Steelbooks aren't art. They are at the end of the day a product, and while marketed more as a collectible than standard Blu-Ray releases, they will always ultimately be a product. I agree insomuch as the artwork aesthetic for steelbooks has become increasingly nuanced over the past few years, but that is not the same thing as being art.

You would think that by now Zavvi would have a pretty close relationship with Disney and would be able to have a word themselves about crap like this.

No title on the spine? It's almost as bad as those cheap white Frame boxes that Oblivion got released in last year.

Hmm.

There are websites where you can design your own stickers (or use Frozen's title art). If you got the dimensions right, how do you think that would like on the spine?

Kind of disappointing because I like the earlier mockup that Zavvi had. I hope Kimchi would do that cover instead and give it a great treatment it deserves. Still, this is still a great cover and I'd stick with my pre-orders.

I want Disney to make all their releases with no title. I love art. That is what got me into steelbook collecting and the less text on the front the better.

My favorite steel of all time has no text at all. Deus Ex HR.

Well hopefully they arn't because it's going to spoil the look of the other Disney steelbooks. When you have a "collection" of Steelbooks which follow roughly the same design and then come across something like this it looks out of place.

It would of been better if all of them were designed like this but they didn't do that.

It was bad enough when they did it to Monsters University.
