Just woke up. Slept early yesterday. And this is all sold out. 2,000 copies.

I don't get it. This steel doesn't look that great. Ok, it is not bad looking. But why is there a rush to buy this steel? 2,000 copies bought up in a few hours?

Thks Paul. A UK mate ordered one copy for me. I m just wondering why the rush. It will be interesting to see how many end up on eBay.

I can understand the rush for Jack Reacher when people thought only 500 were available.

No worries mate,i was thinking the same,i mean 2000 copies sold in a few hours, that's gotta be some kind of record.

Paul.

Why are these ES steelbooks selling so fast compared to other exclusives (zavvi, amazon etc) 2000 is not that low a print run, this had sold out in about 12
hours,so why don't all normal 4000 print runs sell out in say 24 hours,I don't understand it,can someone explain?

People saw the prices Jack Reacher is fetching and hope this will be worth something similar, that's the only explanation.

Can't believe how quickly the ES exclusives have sold out! I would've loved the Jack Reacher one, but I refuse to pay £27 for a BD that'll be sub £8 soon in regular amaray just because its a steelbook regardless of the print run. If Play/Zavvi were and can knock these out at £14.99 a pop why can't ES?

Because Zavvi are amazing with prices, right? http://www.zavvi.com/blu-ray/g.i-joe-retaliation-3d/10796079.html?utm_source=googleprod&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=gp_dvd&affil=thggpsad&gclid=CJDszbfHjbcCFZMQtAoda2QAOg £3 more for the amaray version of this, which isn't limited and has nothing special about it. People really need to lay off ES, the fact is they are bringing us more limited exclusives with the oh so popular sticker than any other store out there. Name one other UK store which released a stickered steel with a 1000/2000 print run? I bet you can't.

I believe Play still enforce 5 copies max per address

ES don't limit how many you can order, to be safe when I order from them I email Luke to let him know how many I will be ordering and the reason for it. It helps to build the relationship between GB host and supplier, rather than just letting him think I'm buying them to sell on at a profit.

Whoa there Nelly calm yourself!

Did I say Zavvi were 'amazing'? Er no I did not. We all know that Zavvi's initial pre-order prices are a joke. They always have been until they get closer to release.

Just expressing my opinions and not 'attacking' ES at all. It's nice to see another company getting in on the game other than just Zavvi now.

I for one don't care about a numbered sticker, that doesn't do anything for me. Can I name another company who does it? Nope...... and I don't particularly care either.

I used to collect limited edition DVDs (that practically always had numbered stickers on FYI) and the same is happening now. Prices started fairly reasonable but then increased and increased until they became way too expensive for just one title and I stopped. I can see me doing the same with steelbooks.

I should add though that all opinions are my own and may not necessarily reflect those of HDN ;)

I still love you though ;) :D :naughty:

I think you are well within your rights to state that the price of these steelbooks are too much. I feel the same way. Now I would never say people should not pay these prices, but if you do buy at this value, be prepared for this to become the norm. The same thing happened with Hot Toys figures, I used to collect them more often, but because people were prepared to pay much more for them the retail costs have almost tripled in price.
