So people are disappointed because it doesn't have any embossing/debossing or something else as the artwork has been the same for ages?

lol, go figure! :p

I reckon it looks pretty nice. Not sure it would have suited 'bossing really. Maybe the title could have been debossed but I don't think that takes anything away from what looks like a good release

Lots of people want embossing on steels as standard now whether it suits it or not. :(

(not me I might add)

I personally don't think its that bad having opened this up. Feels like a decent steelbook, okay doesn't have embossing and debossing but to be honest, kinda bored of that already. Nearly every steel has it, it's good to switch around for change and have it flat with no borders etc.

Completely agree. Nice to have a change and for everything not to be the same.

Absolutely, embossing and debossing isn't all the ingredients in steelbook collecting. Mix it up and have something different each round is the way forward.

Look at steels like John Rambo Uncut, one of the most expensive steelbooks in the world. Flat, writing on the back, blue banner on top, all the stuff that new collectors hate, and goes for rediculous prices :p

There seems to be a trend where people were asking for more embossed/debossed steels and as soon as it happens it gets turned around and suddenly plain flat steelbooks are wanted and embossed ones are 'boring' and 'samey'. Seems crazy and like going around in circles, hehe.

I do agree though that there should be a nice balance of both (unique ways of embossing/debossing is always a winner in my book). I just find it funny how it seems to be from one extreme to the next.

To be fair, I am quite pleased with the releases from ES, they remind me of HMV releases, less is more qty and each steel does have a decent feel quality which to me is important. I've opened Jack Reacher, Hansel and Gretel, now GI Joe, and will be Star Trek 2 as well. The only thing I can say it is a bit expensive, but then again I remember steels being around 25 - 30 euros from Germany + shipping and steels from FS were around $30 - $45 + shipping. No one complained as much as they do on ES?

I'm going to hit you with two cliches: variety is the spice of life; people want what they can't (don't) have.

Whoa pow...

received my copy today. It arrived in mint condition even thou it arrived in just a plain cardboard packaging. No foam or any form of padding.
