It's usually the same woman that does the midnight movie shelving, and she usually goes to the back 5 mins till to bring out that large cage/cart that's locked with a key. Out of that thing she starts stocking the shelves with all the movies that are in boxes that have a shelf date on them.

I asked about the GI Joe steel, and she went through all of the boxes inside that cage (which had a good 4 different versions of the dam movie in them), but no luck with the steel. She then called some dude in the back who was gonna bring out a PDR (???) which she said was the main cardboard display for the movie that they put out in the middle of the floor somewhere away from the standard movie racks. She was thinking that they might be on that thing, but no luck there either.

My guess is that someone saw that the movies were really short stocked and hoarded them in the back for themselves somehow. It's just a hunch, but I've never seen another steelbook release not be at that store that they had plenty of copies of. There were a few people/vultures hovering around, asking for a copy, so maybe friends of employees asked for a steel to be held for them. Steelbook collecting is no big secret anymore, and the Union City Walmart is the only 24/7 one for a good many miles around that attracts some pretty big cities of fans to it.

The reason I asked is because they were not where they should have been at my store. They had 4 different GI joe "boxes" they went through. They were not even with the pallet. I showed the guy a image on my phone he went and scanned a tag of where to find it and then went and searched the back for almost 10 mins before bringing me out a copy. He was the main guy who does them.

Its a had held scanner they use that will tell them exactly where a product is in the back

Just out of curiosity, does anybody actually care whether the film is any good? Reviews of this one have been universally atrocious..so what is the point of owning a steelbook of a crummy film?

In with you on this. I love the art for this steel but the movie was total trash! With all these steels coming out with outrageous prices its impossible to get them all...what hurts the most is that this is a US release and as much as I'd like to buy it to show support, I just can't justify spending $32 for this turd.

I don't think it was that bad. I guess mindset plays a big deal going into it.

If you expected this film to be bad ass and believable then you were already screwing yourself from the beginning.

Come on. It had the rock and Bruce Willis. What did y'all expect?

I thought it was entertaining for what it was.

It's easy to be harsh on a movie, but movies clearly aren't what they used to be. I'd rather have low expectations and enjoy the movies I go to watch then expect the world and continue to get disappointed.

The only movies I have high expectations going in for are the xmen and superhero stuff. The rest just is what it is, space fillers for the real movies coming out :p

Just my two cents

It depends on why you like films. For me I put this up there with Transformers. They have horrible stories and the acting is laughable but they are fun and have some really amazing eye candy scenes. I have a 60" plasma and love to see some eye candy on the screen. I actually like this one better than the first.

Wow everyone at my local Walmart should be fired!
Horrible customer service with extremely rude people
The worst part is I couldn't get the steel because they have no clue what I was talking about nor do they care to look it up!
I should go down there and :shoot: :box:

I thought for a moment there was going to be a shortage as the display at the front had just two steels in front of the regular versions and the same went for the display in electronics but then I found a cardboard display that had dozens of them.

A little expensive as I could care less about the 3d version (please stop trying to cram that crappy 3d technology down by throat Hollywood so you can make more money) but am pleased with it. Displayed it next to my GI Joe Rise of Cobra G1 steelbook because thats just how I roll G1 and all ;)

i got there at 7.30 this morning and they had them on the shelve all ready...about 15 or so, this is the first time i see all of them in perfect conditions! WOWWW! any how! i like the art a lot, i have not seen the film but i rented it first to see if i like it, otherwise, i will return it....question guys, kind of dumb really, lol...sice the instructions are insides; you have to open the steelbook to get the dog tags right?

And the 7.1 lossless audio is nice. Great sound in this movie.

caring about what film reviews say is like letting someone else eat your order in a restaurant, and then listening to them tellin u about what it tastes like....

Proof is always in the eatin, never in the sayin' :movie:

I agree

I saw it and thought it was very mediocre and forgettable but that didn't stop me from picking up the steelbook because I am a steelbook collector that resides in the US and can easily pick it up at my local Walmart. Hand picking steels in store is my favorite part about collecting. And with so few steels being released in the US compared to other countries im not going to miss an opportunity. Plus I liked the first G.I. Joe and I always need to complete the set.
