Seen the first 5 episodes now and must admit it is growing on me. The characters and character development is really great. Not that much action so far but I have a feeling that will change.
I noticed this as well, great news, and thanks for the link!
Very glad they're going with a more exotic feel for the Dornish; whether it was Mediterranean, Middle Eastern or North African, I think most people had imagined the Dornish to have a different ethnic feel to the rest of Westeros. Casting a Chilean in the role is very interesting, and could really work. Think there will be a beefed up role in TV show for Oberyn?
Hope to see more casting news soon, who's confirmed to be in? Mace, Ellaria Sand, the Magnar; anyone else? I wonder if we'll see any of Euron, Victarion, Doran, or Arianne creeping their way into season 4? I also want to find out if Conan Stevens will be returning as the Mountain or if they'll stick to Ian Whyte. Nothing against Whyte, but I felt Conan embodied the role perfectly.
Oh, and: WUN WEG WUN DAR WUN. Cut him at your peril, D&D!
Some more season 4 news: Neil Marshall will be returning to direct a major episode of Season 4.Link.
Marshall is the director of films Dog Soldiers, The Descent, Doomsday and Centurion, and made his mark on GoT over a year ago when he directed the season 2 episode, Blackwater.
Note: I haven't linked the original Empire article, partly because it is a touch spoiler filled. If you don't know what is set to happen in Season 4, I'd advise not reading the original report. Also, according to WinterIsComing, the empire report is incorrect in some of its details, which I speculate to be the claim that this will be episode 4x10.
some spoilery speculation:
Obviously this involves the battle for the wall; Marshall was originally hired for Blackwater due in part to his talent for directing large scale/bloody set-pieces without going over budget.
The questions are what part will he direct, and where will this episode be placed. I think its almost a certainty that the Wall conflict will be spread over several episodes, with the battle for castle black and Jon/Ygritte, the first main assault on the wall and through the tunnel, and finally with Jon's imprisonment/parley with Mance and charge of the Stannis-Brigade. The most logistically challenging is probably the last part, and if I had to guess I'd say the final assualt is what Marshall has been given.
Despite Empire's report of this being episode 10, I think it will be earlier in the season, for no other reason than there's quite a lot that happens after the battle, with Jon's interactions with Stannis and the election for the new Lord Commander. Possibly episode 8, although they seem unable to resist putting OMG stuff in episode 9. I don't know, could we see a truly momentous 4x09 that alternates between the final battle at the wall and a certain trial by combat?
Hey Che, Sixteenvolt or myself just update the thread titles to the most recently aired/airing season. Each show has basically a megathread, rather than having separate threads for each season of a show. No problem posting season 4 stuff in here

Some more casting news for anyone who hasn't yet seen:
Indira Varma Joins the Game Of Thrones cast as The Red Viper's paramour, Ellaria Sand. LINK.
Seems like GoT is collecting the alumni of HBO's Rome! *hint* cast James Purefoy as anybody.
Mark Gatiss, writer and actor for the BBC's Sherlock, joins the cast in an unspecified role. LINK.
Who will Gatiss play in the show? I'd say there's good odds on him playing Mace Tyrell, father of Loras and Margaery. While perhaps not as corpulent as the character described in the books, I think he'd be able to portray the oafish lord of Highgarden well. Some other suggestions that have been put forward are Randyll Tarly and the Magnar of Thenn.
However, the deliberate secrecy around his character is very similar to that of Iwan Rheon being cast as Ramsay Snow last year, which suggests that there could well be a spoiler element to his character. Could Gatiss end up playing Coldhands, or even Bloodraven?
While I agree with your point, in that we should have seen Coldhands with Sam towards the end of the season, I'm not convinced he's cut just yet. The next unadapted Bran chapter is from ADWD, and in that book I believe he only has 3 chapters, so if they don't start padding his material out he'll be completely out of chapters before the end of season 4.
That said, if you look at some of my other predictions/worries on here (Bronn replacing the Red Viper!?) you'll see that I've been very wrong before.
Incidentally, I believe that this year Bryan Cogman said he was looking forward to adapting Damphair, so don't count him out yet either!
Very fitting with the rather 'oafish' and weighty character from the books. It's also interesting as it crosses off a possible role for Mark Gatiss, so who will he end up playing? Nobody seems too sure of that...
You beat me to it, Che! He looks the part for sure, but his lack of acting experience has me a little concerned. I know, the Mountain is a mostly physical part with few lines, but physical roles can be very demanding, and I don't just mean in the sense of fitness/stamina, which Mr. Bjornsson clearly has in spades! Well, I wish him all the best, and hope he can pull it off.
He's not the only recast however. Daario Naharis, played by Ed Skrein in season 3 has been recast with Michiel Huisman playing the character.
Now recasting usually starts me worrying, and while this is no exception, I have to say that I was very let down by Skrein's portrayal of Daario, and hope that Huisman can do the character justice.
You can also see from the above link that Joseph Gatt has been cast in an unspecified role, with fan speculation suggesting the Magnar of Thenn, who we know has been cast at some point during the summer.
Hoji Fortuna has also been cast, again in an unspecified role. He'll be shooting in Croatia, so he'll either turn up at King's Landing or in Essos.
Finally, I've heard that Prince Tommen, Joffrey's younger brother has also been recast. I've forgotten the article that broke the news, but I'll update this post with the details when I find it again.
EDIT:
Found details of the Tommen Recasting. Tommen will be played by Dean Charles-Chapman in Season 4. Interestingly enough, Charles-Chapman has already appeared in GoT, playing
(season 3 Spoilers)
Martyn Lannister
Martyn was one of the doomed squires murdered by the Karstarks at Riverrun.
I was expecting Daario to be more of a brute. I think it's disappointing that the cast keeps changing but I also understand they want the perfect person to play the part. I hope to the seven that they landed the perfect red viper. Mountain really only needs to say 10 words this year to be effective.
