Seen the first 5 episodes now and must admit it is growing on me. The characters and character development is really great. Not that much action so far but I have a feeling that will change.

Anyone have some views on this series? :scat:

Game of Thrones to Wrap Up After Seven or Eight Seasons :(

The April issue of Vanity Fair previews the upcoming fourth season of "Game of Thrones" and features new cast photos.

The article also talks about how the show is catching up to the books and how long the series may go on. Show co-creator David Benioff says: "Last year we went out to Santa Fe for a week to sit down with him [Martin] and just talk through where things are going, because we don’t know if we are going to catch up and where exactly that would be. If you know the ending, then you can lay the groundwork for it. And so we want to know how everything ends. We want to be able to set things up. So we just sat down with him and literally went through every character."

George R. R. Martin added: "I can give them the broad strokes of what I intend to write, but the details aren’t there yet. I'm hopeful that I can not let them catch up with me."

Benioff and co-creator D. B. Weiss said they would like to wrap it up after seven or eight seasons. "It doesn't just keep on going because it can. I think the desire to milk more out of it is what would eventually kill it, if we gave in to that."

JUST seen series 3 . Had to wait for the Blu Ray Sky subscripton I whould only bother for an hour ish , once a week for 10 weeks.Bloody hell HOW GOOD .

Go Arya , Hound Tryon IF LOOKS could kill Tywin whould have killed him thire and then. Speaking of looks that could kill The Onion Knight ohh boy how much dose Melisandre want him Dead.

Go Jamie how multifaceted has he become ?.

How can anyone not fall in LOVE with Daenerys?.

Theron made my eyes water and what a nut job.

Now the Numpty award goes to Sansa that girl needs a boot up her backside.

The red wedding just seeing the chain mail was enough how tenderly Catelyn lifted the shirt material then the SHEAR HORROR!.

I will have to wait now the 11 long months untill series 4 comes out on Blu Ray as you Lucky so and sos get series five.

One HUGE nod of excellence in my lowly view the score I BOW to Ramin Djawadi handling such enormously charged visuals and adapting the music with the touch of a genius.

So sorry if the long post burns your eyes . I'm elated by what I have just seen yes some bits could and should have been done closer to the book. The book is flipping easier now to read as I am ALMOST on a Feast For Crows.

By Far one of the best things to be made into main stream viewing Long may we watch as thay play OR die trying.

George R.R. Martin Wants to End Game of Thrones on the Big Screen

Among the possibilities is a big-budget feature that would finish off the hit HBO series.

Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin says the prospect is being actively discussed.

"It all depends on how long the main series runs," Martin told The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday following the season-four premiere of the hit HBO series in New York. "Do we run for seven years? Do we run for eight? Do we run for 10? The books get bigger and bigger (in scope). It might need a feature to tie things up, something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know."

The best-selling author said another big-screen possibility being considered is one based on Tales of Dunk and Egg, a series of three prequel novellas Martin penned that revolve around a group of characters, including Ser Duncan the Tall, who lived in the mythical Westeros 90 years before the events depicted in A Song of Ice and Fire.

"They could be the basis for [a film]," Martin added at the post-premiere bash held at the Museum of Natural History, where a suspended giant whale cast a shadow over the crowd not unlike one of Martin's dragons. "I have written these three stories, and I have about a dozen more."

Martin says the prequel characters are the direct ancestors of some of Game of Thrones' players, but he wouldn't reveal how they relate.

Warner Bros. would be the natural fit for a studio partner. Warners released the two films based on the long-running HBO series Sex and the City and is behind the upcoming big-screen adaptation of Entourage. The studio also knows how to market a dragon tale, with its The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug having earned nearly $1 billion worldwide.
