@Wreck I imagine it's the sheer size of it that is causing the shipping to be so prohibitive. It's a pity It's so hard to find somewhere in Europe that sells these!

Thanks for the offer @mllNY
I threw some tough numbers into usps and I think the shipping might work out about $60. All in all, not too bad but it's something I will mull over for now.

DAMN! Jerry's seriously jacked up the prices on portfolios. The Picturesque is $260, the Picturesque Pro is $195 and the Wired Refill is $78!

I know the Pro has been and will be OOS for a while, and as of a couple of weeks ago it was unavailable for purchase. I tried to buy one. Luckily I decided to just grab a Wired Refill for $45+shipping. Just the wired refill does exactly what I had hoped for.

@blumaster very nice, is the print laying on paper (ie it is cut) or is that how the print is shaped on the paper. If it is the former that would be a b*tch to frame. Either way really nice!

@C.C. 95 I spoke to them this AM, they will honor the sale price!

@mllNY yeah it's laying on a piece of kraft paper. The Variant is laser cut with a varnish "treasure map" overlay. I think the only way to frame it would be to float it.

@Wreck @justboy should have jumped on it, was waiting for my next paycheck and it just increased $80

I was waiting for pay day as well! Ah well, it's bound to be on sale again at some point.

hopefully the whole rise in price is a glitch and it comes back down.

I did get a couple of commission posters over the last few days.....

Florey's Rocky Road (Treasure Map Variant)
full

It's laser cut with a varnish overlay

The Dark Inker's South Park Avengers
full

Do you also own Stouts Avengers? I just wonder how they look side by side!

@justboy I did have an Avengers Variant but traded it toward Robocop. I didn't really like the Avengers Variant once I had it in hand but I bet the reg looks great. The South Park version looks pretty good and has a ton of metallic ink. I have an extra copy if anyone wants one at cost.

In general, original movie posters are double sided and 27in x 40in, and more often than not, reprints are sized slightly differently so as not to match the original and thereby can be told apart.

After the summer I am going to build some lighted poster boxes to house some of my originals. I will post some plans when I get it all figured out.

Cheers
CrashKelly

Hello CrashKelly
I would be interested in how you get on with the light boxes, that is my next project, just finished 3 steelbook frames, so the light boxes are next, should be a lot easier and cheaper now with LEDs being pretty cheap, other than that it should be straight forward, the main requirement for me anyway is keeping it as slim and slick as possible. Anyway look forward to seeing how you progress.

just got my shipping notice

any advice on flattening posters. is it OK to lay them on the ground using the brown paper they were shipped in and put 4 books in the corner for a week, turn over for a week and presto or do I have to go full out and buy 2 foam boards and get some craft paper and binder clips for a week or so

Should be fine, just make sure the floor or surface beneath the print is fairly level.
