Received mine today; Happy with the artwork/finish and the booklet was a nice touch (which I think more steelbooks should include given the price of half of them...)
Haven't watched the film yet, do own it on DVD but for whatever reason when I did try and watch it more than a Year ago I only made it about twenty minutes in. Just about to press play now!!

I received mine yesterday and I really like the design but you only get one disc and not enough extras for the price you pay, maybe I should have waited but I just love the films and the series.

I notice that some people here who pre-ordered from Zavvi have received theirs already, despite the official release date still being the 29th! What gives! Why are Zavvi shipping these so early? People who pre-ordered from Amazon or elsewhere clearly have to wait for almost another two weeks! Yet another monumental Zavvi cock-up, or deliberately shipped out early for some reason?

You just can't win with Zavvi - They either postpone releases for weeks, or they jump the gun and ship items out two weeks early! Why are they incapable of just releasing SteelBooks on the day they are supposed to be?

I enjoyed it; Not the easiest watch in the World, but respect how acclaimed the film is...Wouldn't say its a film you'd want to stick on if you want something light to watch but was cool all the same- You enjoy the film??

its one of my fav animated films. i watched the bluray last night.. i like the themes, i also like how it bombards you with information lol i found it enlightening and inspirational when i first watched it... but as you said, you have to be in the mood for it.

ghost in the shell: innocence (GITS 2) is much the same and just as good in my opinion.

Might have to look into that; On the subject of animated films, need to pick up the Studio Ghibli steels still- Still don't know why they've only brought 4 in the series out though. Wanted to get the Akira steelbook but it's going for £40 upwards online atm and can't really justify that at the minute (though I daresay I'll eventually get round to buying it)

yeah, im waiting for the ghibli's to reduce in price. i got the akira steel. also ninja scroll, havnt actually watched the blu ray yet but i saw the film years ago and its crazy haha

Sorry I never looked back but did we confirm which version or versions this contains? Ghost in the Shell V1? or V2 with the CGI?

Here's a question: If you pre-ordered Ghost In The Shell from Zavvi last week, would they ship straight away or make you wait until the 29th?

Clearly an epic cock-up on Zavvi's part! I wonder how many customers actually received their Ghost In The Shell SteelBooks, and how many are still waiting?

I wonder what MangaUK have to say about this? Clearly Zavvi should be fined for breaking the street date by a significant time frame, when other retailers like Amazon.co.uk have stuck by it. If this happened with a huge release like Call Of Duty, FIFA 15, or films like X-Men: DOFP or Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes then they would be fined heavily by the studio / publisher!
