And you can still sell them as well and make a little buck. Also you cannot show off your movie collection from digital downloads lol

The point I was making is that ''movie companies'' keep track at how many copies are downloaded for a specific Blu-ray Release.
Whether you download it for yourself or give it to someone else for download, ''it is still downloaded'' and this information is used by the movie Studio.
If Downloads Keep getting stronger and stronger at one point it could be the end of the Physical Blu-ray...not too far fetched (CD Versus mp3s)

Sorry wasn't thinking the technical  I was thinking more aesthetically :p
But on your technical explanation I totally understand. It is all crucial marketing information that can assist the distributors.

All my digital download codes have never been taken out of the steelbook /Amaray case. I never even looked at them! :D

there is a £10 difference between identical looking editions. people most likely went for the cheaper option.
Which means they'd rather have 3D over 4K...... All the same really.

There's even cheaper options without the 3D if you take the Italian steelbook etc.....into account.

To be fair the italy release was announced later....Zavvi might be in for a slew of cancellations now with a cheaper version if people dont care for 4k or 3d.

If the 4K pre-order had been very limited - like the 4K THE GREAT WALL (500 reportedly) - then that one would be showing "sold out" first (like THE GREAT WALL).

As 3D discs have been around in the U.K. for a good while (since mid 2010) and true 4K UHD discs only since the third quarter of 2016 stands to reason that more people have 3D capable TVs than 4K TVs.
Also stands to reason that 3D discs will be produced for a good few years more . . . even if all the manufacturers abandon 3D TVs . . . and a high quality TV, as in expensive, manufactured during the past few years, with 3D capabilities, should have a useful working life of at least 10 years (for example, my TV manufactured in 2006 is still going strong although I sadly had to abandon my 2008 Blu-ray player a year or so ago and buy a more modern and far less attractive one).
1080p Blu-rays will NEVER be replaced by 4K UHD discs but I welcome the new format running with 1080p as I'm not a Luddite and any improvement in PQ / AQ is something that should be strived for but of course the vast majority of films that have made the leap from DVD to Blu-ray will never have a better presentation than 1080p.

Disagree. A lot of buyers do not want international steels. They want the official English version. They want the data card to be English. Doesn't matter if it's cheaper or not. Why have the trouble importing over a few quid when you can buy the uk version?

HMV ghostbusters is worth a lot more than the Italian simply because it's the English version.

Sold Out, Back in Stock, 4K and High price.....

All other editions look gorgeous and UK retailers are amongst the worst.

This is all due to Zavvi and Brexit lol.

Well not surprised it sold out at all. I'm not sure if this is one of zavvi games or not but if it does comeback in stock I think this is it really for it.

Having upgraded to a UHD TV a couple of years ago and running some UHD media through it the picture is easily better than HD.
The 3D is better as well.

What is not so good is that if you have a projector set up then most likely it will be HD as the price of UHD projectors is still very expensive. For me this will leave me with HD bluray for now

I didnt pre-order the zavvi version, because I wanted to buy the German steelbook, but the German steelbook doesnt have the 3D disc -.-

For now yes, but 4K is catching up....

I've decided to wait to the end of 2018 or summmer to 2019 to make my official transition mostly because my set up is still running well.

I don't mind owning 4K steels, ready for the next format rather than hunting them down later.

If 4K does survive, won't all the discs out now just be cheaper then?
