Yeah though I never watch the 3D discs, too lazy to fetch the glasses :D
I've been getting back into 3D lately - my TV's refresh rate is looking a bit laggy(5 year old TV that wasnt a brand new model at the time, 2010/2011 model I believe) but still love the format.

Is annoying fishing out the glasses though, but its not like we dont have the 2D options.

Plus some movies, like this, are MADE for 3D :)
(hoping to catch it in 3D IMAX agian tonight before it leaves in place of the new Fast and Furious movie)

Got to say I thought the 3D was excellent in this, and I'm not a fan of 3D. Really strong visuals overall and the 3D definitely enhanced it

saw this again last night(last chance in my Local IMAX) and it certainly is made for 3D and actually held up much better on second viewing.

Cant wait to see it again when it comes out on Steelbook.

Talking of which, do we have a release date yet....

^ 7th August 2017

Not in the OP but various sources have the 7th as the date including Br.com, Zavviuk/fr, Sbpro, avforums . . .

Good to know the estimated release date as would have thought it was July (perhaps sooner.) Didn't expect this to have sold out in all honesty and I've got the standard Zavvi problem as the address I've got it being delivered to won't be valid by August. Must keep my eyes open for it coming back into stock or else be nice to the people receiving it on my behalf :naughty:

Also, is black, white and red now becoming a stylistic norm, just seems a bit close artistically to John Wick Ch. 2 in USA. Perhaps its all down to one poster artist getting all the gigs?

It's unusual for a film not to be actually filmed in 3D to be getting good reviews for its 3D!

This one is 'fake 3D' as it was converted to 3D in post production.

I had to wait till January 2015 for an order for the Guardians of the Galaxy steelbook when the UK released in November 2014 so this might not be wrong. I hope it is.

Okay. I don't know the German release date for GotG, but November to January is not that long. It would be very surprising, with an estimate world wide (?) release in August, to wait until the end of December. I don't think that this will happen. It is normal on amazon.de to put a release date, like the end of the year as a placeholder, as long as they don't have the final date yet.

GotG in UK theatres in july 31st, 2014 -> BD 4 months after, November 24th, 2014
GotG in GER theatres in August, 28th, 2014 -> BD 4 months after (and 10 days) January 8th, 2015

It takes 4 months for the BD, after the release in theatres (2 weeks more or less). Check the release date of GitS in german theatres, and you ì'll have your BD release date

Um, Titanic, The Lion King, most other Disney/Pixar....all of which have FANTASTIC 3D,

To be honest, post-production 3D always looks miles better to me to the point that a movie being shot in 3D has become way overhyped, and in the end, a negative, personally.

Have to disagree with you there.

None of the films you mentioned were really applauded for their 3D merits. Apart from Titanic.

Disney has the worst 3D IMO. The Marvel films are terrible and Big Hero Six is one of the worst 3D films I've watched. The whole movie is practically blurry. Although I will say I'm just watching The Jungle Book and the 3D on that IS awesome.

Jurassic Park is another good example of post production 3D.

Although Disney marvel 3D isn't anything to wow over guardians of the galaxy is amazing in 3D and most Pixar are decent too. Some better than others

Be interesting to see the quality when Star Wars prequel 3D comes out.
