Thanks guys and gals!

Is there a particular UK release I need to hunt down to get the corrected disc?

Sorry for all the questions!

The original edition of the UK Gladiator steelbook is not for you.

That is the sealed original. The difference is the shrinkwrap...sealed with a watermark around it as you can see in the pic. The reseal is the one you want and it has no watermark. If you're hunting for it unsealed then its pot luck really...better to check with the seller if it has the correct ID number on the disc. Hope that kinda helps.

I have purchased an open version of the steelbook.

I guess what I mean, is which amaray version do I need to buy, such as from amazon, that has the corrected disc in it, as standard?

Any new version that you buy will have the remastered version, the only (very) small chance you will get the original version is if you buy a second hand copy

I feel a bit late to the party with this. Got mine open off of Evilbay £28 including postage a very slight ding and a small scratch :ohno:. Artcards intact not a mark on em.

May or may not bother picking up a replacement disk . Mine has A and load of 1010 lost the plot after that.

Thanks for the help .

If you can't read the number there's apparently another way to test the disc, I've not tried this so can't guarantee this method is correct

Play the movie from the beginning and after the Dreamworks logo disappears, the word Gladiator will appear. If it stays black then you have the best version. If it changes to gold you have the duff one!

Thanks to DAVE1971 on AVF for the info

Just got a new sealed copy, with the correct disc.

It does have a different number sequence on the flip side, but the main difference is the new disc is a lot darker- the clouds are a lot darker. Here is a picture, side by side.

The faulty disc is on the left.

If you get the chance could you try the 'Gladiator intro' method I outlined in post 186 please as it may be useful for someone in the future.

Cheers
