Oh dude you missed out, some of Brosnan laserdiscs were simply stunning. Especially Goldeneye which had beautiful art not seen since and came in a glossy gatefold sleeve. It was also the original version to contain all the extra's that have since come up on dvd and the blu ray, the Liz Hurley doc etc.
They did a THX run in the US of most of them. They came in white sleeves with the original poster art.
Yeah that really is the problem, the Bond franchise is basically never ending so any set is ultimately kind of a waste even though some have been really nice over the years.
The only worry I would have with someone like Zavvi doing this is that I want them all to be completely the same in design, and so far they haven't done that "Disney steels" The other problem is that some Bond movies just wouldn't sell very well.
If they did a very low run of maybe 2000 of each title released 2 a month with matching original poster art, that would be one seriously nice set. But then problems again when Sony release the new film and decide to go with non matching art lol!
With so many films, this really is the ultimate nightmare franchise to get right lol
Oh Dave, you're making me jealous - I don't hold out much hope of even seeing them now, but I will have to look out for them. They sound like the lavish box sets they did for Amadeus, Brazil, Jumanji etc - I've got those and a few others. but Bond eluded me.
Quite right about the artwork - whoever takes it on needs to commit to it long term - matching art - probably inc the spines - as the producers like to make the Bond logo don't they - and yeah, nightmare territory overall; but very pleasing if it goes right

Both games so far have been a travesty.
Croatia deserved their 2-2 draw,
And Mexico equally should have a 3-0 win under their belts.
The officials as ever are rubbish, and the sooner they adopt technology from Rugby League/Union, the better and fairer it will be.
BTW - Quite like the art on this fairly well done front at least. Be a bugger of the spines don't all match up though.

Instabuy for me. This, alongside Skyfall, is the perfect Bond film. Casting, direction, story, characters, music...

easist pass ever for me. i like the artwork, but putting the same (front) artwork on the back as well shows how poor the effort of some artwork designers is.
and the price tag is just ridiculous, i'm happy with my BOND 50 box set.

Only after a fashion.
I see the MGM and blu logos in the same place - but the trouble with this approach is that the spines will be a misama of colour with non-matching typefaces on the shelf that in reality look nothing like a set or series.

If they released the others and used the original poster title font, they could still look amazing as long as they keep the MGM and blu logos in the same place.
I like this but they really need to re consider the back artwork
I just looks lazy to just repeat the front artwork on the back and could be better
Considering its a Fox UK Release it might be a matte finish but I really think this needs to be a gloss finish or be a spot gloss finish
I have an pre-order placed with zavvi for now with their 10% off that's really 5 %
If Amazon.UK end up cheaper they will get my order instead

Yeah, I'll buy into that, providing they keep the spine colours down to as few as poss - I like uniformity, says the man who doesn't like joining anything

It could be a one off stand alone release
But I suspect they will start at some stage releasing the more steelbooks next year considering steelbooks are more popular now than 1 year ago
I could be wrong of course but with the next bond been released in 2015 we will see something new happen for the back catalogue
You can 100% expect something new to promote the back catalogue be it steelbooks or different artwork slip case Blu-ray re-releases
They did with the DVD's re-releases and did do the Blu-ray box set last time to tie in with Skyfall
