I don't see why steelbooks of any of the will be a 'joke', all those films would be FANTASTIC on steel, sure Zavvi are doing quite a few too many but I don't understand the attack on these films

It is not an attack on these great movies. It is an attack on zavvi and the lack of amaray releases. WB just re-released all of these movies with UV codes and new slip covers. Including Gremlins.

That annoys me too.
I was expecting a UV code to come with the Argo steelbook. Was also dissapointed the Nolan Batman steels didn't have codes either, considering the re-released amarays had them.

I know a lot of collectors don't open their steelbooks, or they double dip. But its frustrating to see we aren't being offered the best editions of the films we love.

So bit of a double edged sword really. Great to see catalogue releases getting the steelbook treatment, but just wish the studios would put a bit more effort in.

I love the inside art. I prefer gizmo on the front cover but this will compliment the gremlins steelbook from France.

The French one is indeed very nice, with a cute Gizmo on the front.
But a custom art would be nice, with nice Blue letters on front.

Just went on to zavvi and saw that the pre-order price is £14.99 not £19.99. That may sway a few that were on the fence. It would have been great to get both. I have the french one and its HUGE, with no interior art, its a real ugly steel but it was the only one available and it has both 1-2. So maybe if zavvi gets in on part 2, I will double dip and sell my French steel.

yeah, dredd would be awesome.. and easy money for zavvi imho... 4k print run @ 15gbp (maybe rather 17,49) would go in no time!

Does anyone know if the transfer is the same for this worldwide?

I have the Canadian release and I didn't think the PQ was as bad as people are making out (that's if it IS the same as the UK release)

Warner release therefore I'm pretty certain the transfer is exactly the same worldwide. As far as I know only certain titles from Warner are defferent in the audio / video dept. Zodiac being one. It's a safe bet to assume the UK one is the same as your current Canadian copy.
