For this very special release, Anchor Bay went back to the vaults to present this legendary terror classic as never before, including creating an all-new HD transfer personally supervised by the film's original cinematographer, Academy-Award® nominee Dean Cundey (Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Apollo 13, the Back to the Future trilogy), a new 7.1 audio mix (as well as the original mono audio), a brand-new feature length audio commentary by writer/director John Carpenter and star Jamie Lee Curtis, an all-new bonus feature with Ms. Curtis, as well as selected legacy bonus features from previous ABE releases. Available in a collectible limited-edition steelbook package.

I wouldn't be surprised if this has a printed back or lacks inside art or even both. It's always a slight worry when a distributor releases its first Steelbook. Not many get it right from the off.

Is this Starz/Anchor Bay? The ones in the States, i.e. Django: Unchained Target Steelbook, artwork was superb but the finish and quality control were very poor. This having bossing on it period tells me that the pros in the UK will produce a better product than the novice distributors of the Northern American region. ;)

Hopefully that's the case but as different individuals make the decisions, we can never really be sure until we get the full details.

Anyway Zavvi are in at £14.95 which isn't too bad, especially if a code pops up:

Oh and Amazon's price has dropped by 23p :D

Great movie but not that excited about the artwork although it is wel known.

Black = Matte finish = Inviting trouble

I have to agree on this part. I would rather have the money spent on a solid glossy finish. It still bewilders me that some members would prefer a matte finish. A cheap finish inevitably leads to paint chips.

Is it somehow possible to request a glossy finish and remove the line "35th Anniversary Edition" from the steelbook?

I have 1 steelbook with paint chips and that is a glossy steelbook (The Town from Zavvi). Glossy finishes look so cheap and plastic it is horrible. My opinion of course but I really really really hope this has a matte finish.

Everyone differs but I find Matte finishes can look poor and chip easily. I would take a nice glossy finish every day over a matte one. It gives the Steels a premium look IMO.
