For this very special release, Anchor Bay went back to the vaults to present this legendary terror classic as never before, including creating an all-new HD transfer personally supervised by the film's original cinematographer, Academy-Award® nominee Dean Cundey (Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Apollo 13, the Back to the Future trilogy), a new 7.1 audio mix (as well as the original mono audio), a brand-new feature length audio commentary by writer/director John Carpenter and star Jamie Lee Curtis, an all-new bonus feature with Ms. Curtis, as well as selected legacy bonus features from previous ABE releases. Available in a collectible limited-edition steelbook package.

Was ooing and aahing about getting this as i have it already on Blu Ray, thought it was a repackage with the same disc but just noticed its a new remaster which pretty much makes it a instant pre-order for me. The current release by Starz/Anchor Bay i thought was pretty decent so looking very forward to this.

How do the extras compare to previous versions? I want to get this but from the sounds of people on here every version has exclusives? so there will never really be one definitive version?

These are the extras for the US disc -

Halloween: 35th Anniversary Edition features 1080p video, Dolby TrueHD 7.1 and Original Mono audio tracks, and the following extras:

•All-new commentary track with writer/director John Carpenter and star Jamie Lee Curtis
•"The Night She Came Home" new featurette with Jamie Lee Curtis (HD)
•On Location
•Trailers
•TV & Radio Spots
•Additional Scenes from TV Version

Simple and sleek design plus a remastered disc. This is really tempting. Not to mention the reasonable price and not being a zavvi exclusive. Hopefully it's region free as well.:)
